Of all the reasons why you should not choose to stay here, and there are many, I think the smell of fried food wafting up from the cafe below is the main one. Overall, Fort Augustus is overpriced (we paid £600 for a room for three nights without breakfast which in any similar location would cost half that) and not worth staying in unless you need to. So consequently rooms here are similarly overpriced. The rooms are clean but the back rooms overlooking the car park are cramped with a low sloping roof. Communicating with the management was patchy (we never received a response with questions where to park) and everything to do with the stay is handled by the manager of the cafe below who is nice but clearly not trained in providing service commensurate with a £200/nt room. I would say avoid staying here, but I fear all prices in FA are inflated, so I would sadly say avoid the whole town and stay somewhere else entirely.
