Probably the best b and b in Scotland, if not anywhere. The rooms are spotlessly clean, as you would expect but there are lots of touches which show that thought has gone into making your stay a pleasant one; homemade cupcakes on arrival, cutlery for your takeaway etc. Location is quiet and peaceful but just a 10 minute canal side walk from the centre of Fort Augustus. Breakfasts are magnificent. The full Scottish is filling enough to see you through the day although there are plenty of alternatives should you prefer something lighter. But what really makes this place special are the hosts, Natalie and Mark, for whom nothing is too much trouble. We've been visiting here every year since they first took over 10 (?) years ago and they've always gone out of there way to make us feel welcome. One year I asked if they had any mint tea so now when we arrive there is always a supply of mint tea bags in my room! If you're visiting the Highlands I would wholeheartedly recommend The Kettle House, I don't think you'll find anywhere better.

Lovely house and settings. Beautiful grounds and well kept property. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast was pleasant, plenty of choice, which you choose the previous night. Easy self service check in if necessary. Is a bit of a walk outside the centre, if the weather isn't good.

Absolutely delightful place to stay, picturesque location and hosts that are so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are extremely clean and has everything you could need for a short or long stay. Breakfast has many options and everything we tried was cooked amazingly, I would highly recommend the scrambled eggs which was cooked to perfection. We will be back for sure.

What a great B&B. We stayed here for one night in early June. The wife, myself and our wee dog. It was perfect.. 100% spot on, great room, great hosts, great breakfast. And the gardens were amazing. Would love to visit again.

Best B&B we stayed in on our Great Glen Way cycling trip. Lots of thoughtful touches in rooms, inlcuding fresh milk in fridge for tea. Breakfast good but sausage - my go to measure of breakfast quality - not ther best so only scored 4/5. Would prefer orange juice not from concentrate too.

Spent 4 nights here in April and absolutely loved it. Lovely house, spacious room, comfortable bed, delicious baking left in the room and a variety of breakfast available. Natalie and Mark are excellent hosts, very friendly and knowledgeable about places and sites to see. Great base to travel around the highlands and beyond.

First of all, I have to say wow! Kettle house is picture perfect and from the minute you step inside, it just gets better. Natalie the owner greeted us and instantly made us feel welcome, despite the fact that we weren't staying there! My sister and brother in law had booked with them, at this time, nobody had power due to storms, we had to stay in a lodge as it wasn't safe to sleep in our campervan, so Natalie kindly said we could have breakfast there, despite having to use a camping stove. The breakfast was amazing, she also gave our two dogs a treat. We would 100% recommend Kettle house , it offers the full package, we will definitely be going back to Fort Augustus, and will be booking Kettle House. Thank you again to such hospitality Natalie.

We booked this as a stop over on our way further west on a recommendation from a neighbour. We were not disappointed! The rooms and welcome were lovely, along with ample parking. It may be 20 minutes walk into Fort Augustus but when there’s not a storm, it would be a pleasant walk. On the day of arrival, storm Amy struck and took out the power in most of west Scotland. Did this phase Natalei and Mark, not at all, they started the generator and cooked breakfast on a camp stove which was very tasty. They also helped out my brother in law who was in a camping lodge that had no power and provided a hot breakfast and coffee for them. They couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating! We will certainly be back! Thanks Natalei and Mark!
