Built on the frame of an old vintage cart we have incorporated some of the old oak beams for some added character. A hand built fitted oak kitchen supplies ample cupboard space, a full size gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine & toaster.A built in table with leather stools and leather armchairs provide comfortable seating plus a tv with dvd and a cosy wood burning stove completes the look.The separate bedroom provides a hand built centralised double bed plus bedside units and hanging wardrobe space is provided, plus a further tv with dvd, along with an en suite bathroom with full size shower, heated towel rail, toilet, sink unit and shaving light.An enclosed patio area with chiminea and bbq makes a delightful setting for outdoor relaxing.From the Shepherd’s Retreat you can cycle or walk a short distance into the forestry tracks. We have plenty of storage for your bikes. If you wish to bring your boat to take to the coast then we can store this securely for you. At the bottom of the road we have the local shop/post office and village pub.Situated on the edge of the New Forest, located on the boundary of Dorset and Hampshire, close to the River Avon. Ideally situated to explore Ringwood Forest, on our doorstep, and a short drive can take you to the New Forest National Park famous for its free roaming ponies, donkeys, cattle and pigs in the autumn,, New Forest Water Park, Moors Valley Country Park, the local quaint town of Fordingbridge, delightful Wimborne Minster or the local market town of Ringwood. All offering excellent pubs/restaurants and coffee houses. Bournemouth coast’s spectacular beaches are an easy 25 minute drive, the Jurassic coast within easy reach and the ancient city of Salisbury with its beautiful cathedral is well worth a visit.This is a perfect romantic hideaway, an ideal bolt hole for couples and under 2 hours from London, easily accessible and ideal for a country break. Guests have their own designated parking space. The kitchen which is situated on the ground floor with a door leading to the garden and parking area. The kitchen is fully equipped for your needs including an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, sink and plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils. There is also an iron and ironing board supplied.From the kitchen area the stairs lead to the rest of the apartment.The spacious sitting room is on the first floor and has two sofas, a coffee table, elegant lighting, a large flat screen TV with DVD player. The dinning table and chairs are in the lounge allowing view through the double aspect windows and large double doors that lead out to the balcony.. The balcony has a couple of reclining chairs (available during the summer) for you to sit back and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, and maybe a glass of wine to help unwind..There is also a table and chairs where you could enjoy your breakfast and enjoy the morning sun.You could also sit and enjoy the stars at night as we have very low levels of light pollution. You may even see the badgers roaming around looking for worms and digging up the lawn, our resident hare or the family of green woodpeckers!!The bedroom has a lovely comfortable double bed for a good nights sleep and there is plenty of storage in the wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a sets of towels for each guest and we have supplied a hair dryer in the top drawer of the chest of drawers. Bedding is also provided.There is also a large en-suite bathroom.The spacious bathroom is en suite and is fully equipped with a lovely deep bath with shower over and a toilet and hand basin. We have supplied a few toiletries in the bathroom just in case you have forgotten yours including shower gel, liquid soap, tissues, toothbrushes and toothpaste and shower cap.We have a large garden that you are welcome to make use of and enjoy. We try to grow as many of our own vegetables as we can and we also have chickens to supply us with fresh eggs daily.
