Residence Inn Flint Grand Blanc

I'm Marriott titanium and have stayed at well over 1000 Marriott properties. I feel compelled to leave this review so others don't make the same mistake I did last week. I booked the property assuming it would be a typical Residence Inn. It is in grave disrepair. I checked in, the elevator was broken, the halls smelled of urine, my carpet was stained everywhere, the furniture was ripped, and the smoke detector was missing and wires hanging from the wall, had I stayed longer I'm sure I'd have found more issues. Kudos to the two women at the front desk who were outstanding and should be commended for their customer service. I simply told them I wasn't going to be able to stay (refund or not) they simply said "we understand" and cancelled my reservation. Know that keeping this open pre-remodel is going to damage your brand and reputation beyond repair. A loyal Marriott Elite.

I would rate ZERO if that was possible. The front desk gals get 5 star. This place should be closed!! Mold/mildew problems through out the room. Central elevator was broke. One working elevator. The hallway carpet was dirty. I was wearing sandals and could feel the dirt flipping up inside my shoe while walking to my room. I stayed one hour and couldn’t handle it anymore. Used soap left in shower. Mildew/mold throughout the room please view pictures. I started having breathing problems and itching horribly. Do NOT stay here! ESPECIALLY if you can’t be around mold or mildew

We requested a handicapped room. Were told none were available due to maintenance problems. Then they put us in between the entry ways...way too far for hubby to walk. Finally moved us closer to door. MULTIPLE issues with room (NO top sheet)!

As a Platinum Elite member I have stayed for weeks on end at various Residence Inns and TownePlace Suites over a period of many years and have never had such a disappointing stay as this. Upon approaching the hotel there was no signage indicating the driveway from the main road to the hotel, and I ended up turning into an adjacent road leading to a business center instead. On checking in, I noted a musty odor, which permeated the entire structure. Our one-bedroom suite did not have a functioning TV in the living area, the remote missing both its batteries and the battery cover. Later, a hotel staff person brought me a new remote but was unable to obtain a picture on the TV. I also noted that the filter on the kitchenette faucet spot was missing, causing the water to splash all over the counter. The carpeting was frayed and dirty. The living room sofa was dirty, with crumbs in the crevices. The shower had three dispensers, one of which was detached from its wall hanging. The lettering on all three dispensers. body wash, shampoo, conditioner, was so faint I was unable to make out which was which. The next morning I found very few tables and an inadequate number of chairs in the breakfast area, with some guests eating while standing. This facility desperately needs extensive remodeling, before which Marriott should remove it from its franchises.

Housekeeper stole money from our room and management refused to address it. The people there are not helpful and trashy human beings. The hotel is dated and dirty. Housekeeping did not clean the two bedroom room we stayed in after requesting a full service. Ive never had to sleep on top of the blankets at any Marriott ever. We only stayed here from the two bedroom option, we will get two seperate adjoining rooms from now on. This is unacceptable and Marriott has been informed. I don't know how this stays open with all of the newer hotels in the area. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience! Dirty filthy rooms in terrible disrepair. Thick cigarette smoke as soon as we walked in and permeated downstairs hallways. When I mentioned this, the desk person said that they knew and alarms were “making noise”. I asked why they didn’t kick them out, she said the resident would rather pay the extra fee for cleaning. She asked us if we wanted points because we are titanium members. Or we could have something from the Marketplace. We looked over at the Marketplace and it was empty! Well, when we got to our room we realized that smoking room was right across from ours. Our room was terrible anyway. No working lights or fan in bathroom. Table leg at 90* angle. Food ? Spots all over couch and chair. Carpet frayed and dirty. Fridge with missing drawers. And on and on. See pictures. So they moved us upstairs and there were so many problems in that room that we called Marriott corporate. They canceled our reservations and we booked with a sister property. Big mistake again. They were owned by the same group and we had the same experience, minus the smoke. Marriott should be ashamed to even mention these properties as one of theirs. We felt so sorry for the desk employees. They said they had to deal with complaints all the time. DON’T STAY HERE!!
