Comfortable beds, lots of room for storing golf and hiking equipment . Burmese feast a highlight . Also tried the microwave reheat meals - delicious and nourishing . The fagus are about to turn. The property is holding up well despite a long grouchy drought.

Our family of four stayed at Hamlet Downs for two nights. Steve and Trish are exceptional hosts and the meals they provide using ingredients sourced from their farm are worth a stay alone. The bangers and mash were a highlight. Literally the best I have ever had. Our accommodation was spacious and comfortable. The walks through nearby conservation areas are awe inspiring and should not be missed. I can’t recommend Hamlet Downs highly enough.

Hamlet Downs suites are comfortable and spacious with a cosy ambience perfectly suited to the property’s stunning rural location. Varying accomodation options are available with amazing gourmet meals offered onsite, and the owner/operators are lovely.

Steve and Trish are great hosts, friendly and helpful. Plus, gourmet meals delivered to your suite. Loved the Tasmanian seafood chowder. Hamlet Downs is in a great location. Easy access to Mt Field, Derwent Bridge and Hobart. Trish and Steve were extra helpful when we left some belongings behind. They helped locate them and went above and beyond to get them back to us, keeping us up to date. Highly recommend.

Out in the country, nice a quiet and a beautiful setting. Only about 10 minutes down to Mt Field National Park, and another 10 or so to Maydena. Comfortable accomodation and bed. Great breakfast, if you are a breakfast person. They also do dinners, however we being pretty indecisive decided to do other options as we did not know how our day was going to conclude. Peaceful, with a resident crow, that tells you when he (or she) is wanting breakfast also. Waiting every morning in hope. Watch your coffee and biscuits as well, as he also loves those and will quite happily feed from your hand. Definitely worth a stay and somewhere we will most likley go back to when we are in that area again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, we had the house, which was set apart and very quiet within a lovely rural setting. Trish and Steve are wonderful hosts, very accommodating. We had dinner on one night and it was delicious, as well as breakfast both mornings, again very yummy. Highly recommend the food. Was a good location for access to the nearby Russell Falls and good hiking. There are resident platypuses.

We stayed in the big house with friends. It was basically like being in the park, without the crowds. We couldn't see another house from this house, as there is lots of acreage. There are playtpuses in the ponds, and lots of bird life. The house is rustic, but comfortable. The owner is friendly and very accomodating. Excellent overall.
