A Five Star Cumbria Experience! From the moment I received a call asking about allergies for the meal 24 hours in advance, I anticipated a first rate experience and I wasn’t disappointed! The setting and grounds and delightful entrance to the building set the tone and this continued with the hearty welcome and the fantastic clock and its history being explained by one of the very friendly staff who proceeded to make an equally fantastic cocktail. The lovely vibe continued in the sitting room with a cozy open fire and the meal that followed hit the spot after a mad day! Service was impeccable and very much appreciated from the table service, assistance with a mobile phone being charged to the discretion re the muddy attire after a day at an archeological dig and visits to Bewcastle and Hadrian’s Wall. Couldn’t have been made more welcome! Thank you to the team at Farlam Hall!

A totally 12/10 experience. My friend and I were met prior to entering the hotel by a very nice lady, and led through the hotel to the bar area. We were greeted by several members of staff on route to a table of our choosing outside (a lovely sunny evening). Here we had a glass of prosecco and a taster to wet our appetite. Once in the restaurant we were treated to excellent service by everyone especially Alex & Andre and made to feel very welcome. Our taster menu was out of this world, the presentation, amazing, the flavours, to die for. Our whole experience from start to finish was sublime. One of my top three experiences in life and I would thoroughly recommend. Thank you team Farlam Hall Cedar Restaurant and all the background team also, to all the Chefs and especially to Hrishikesh Desai for making a truly magical experience. Already booked another evening for my wife's birthday. MB.
