The hotel was beautiful rooms were nice very posh and modern large balcony . You had to pay 26 euro for taxi to change money hotel didn't do it.just a few little shops beside it who try and take your eyes out with stupid prices.firstly made appointment for pedicure when I went they said I hadn't gave me another appointment for Xmas night it was closed then it was open I cancelled didn't bother going back it was always empty the girl was either on her phone or doing her own hair every day.hotel was full off Germans no English channels on tv. Food wasn't good wish was a let down. Burgers 2 times a night pasta and fish every night no carvery on either I been to 3 star hotel where food was much better The patisserie was open also waffle 3 till 4 couldn't get in for the Germans. So never had one yet. Soup 11 till midnight and bread it fine.e if you like shrimp soup or garlic soup no thanks. It rain for the full week thunder, lightening hail stones size of golf ball , nothing like xmas just like another day so won't be going back the bed was the best I've slept in which was one good thing as I have a bad back
Xmas isn't a special occasion here. Don't waste your money. Xmas day passed by with nothing special. No Santa for the children. No carol's. No Xmas music anywhere. No bucks fizz at breakfast. No small token gift. No special entertainment. Total let down. When we asked about what was the plan for Xmas we were told you had it last night!!! So Xmas eve was supposedly it. Apparently cocktails were at the bar at 6 but unless you see a notice somewhere in the hotel you will miss it, like us. The restaurant that night had happy new year serviettes!!! Not merry Christmas. The Christmas decoration was a plate covered in tin foil with a lit red candle. There is nobody ever to escort you to a table or monitor people coming out when it's full. Everyone just wanders around. The food that night wasn't Xmas themed. I had pan fried prawns and KFC chicken strips. The desserts were the same as usual with added fondant toppers Xmas themed. Everywhere I have gone for Xmas they have made it special but not here. It's usually bottle's of wine on the table. Sweets from the country on a plate. To say I was underwhelmed was an understatement and so were other English guests. The entertainment for Xmas eve was a Cuban group who were ok. The entertainment area isn't fit for purpose. Either side of the dance floor it's shelving units so you actually can't see. Children are racing back and forth and nobody stops them. Xmas day entertainment a quiz!!! No not Xmas themed but music. Listen to a record then identify the song. Not great and over in 35 minutes. Boxing day a 3 piece band who sang some Xmas carol. These should have been on Xmas day. Maybe this suited the 95% majority German clients but to us English it was all backside forwards. I wouldn't recommend Xmas here at all you have got it all wrong. It's an ok hotel. Not 5 star. Coffee is terrible. Some like dishwater, some cold. Never consistent. All from push button machines. So don't be mislead like I was. I saw the pictures of Thea's coffee shop with proper barista machine. This swayed me to booking here only to find it's never used. The only time I saw the one in the lobby bar used was when a proper coffee was made for the guest relations manager!! Us paying guests have to put up with substandard vending machine coffee. The cakes at Thea's are exactly the same as dinner and evening meal in the buffet restaurant. Oh and communication isn't great. Apparently on Xmas day they served hot chocolate and cakes and chocolate sweets downstairs but didn't promote it so we missed that too. Overall the food was luke warm and underwhelming. No sweet pastries or cakes at breakfast. Never saw the soup at 11 at night. The room is ok but nextdoor had a cough really bad and it was clearly audible through the walls. A couple we met had internal adjoining doors to the next room. Twice they had to ask them to be quiet. Their room was in the eaves of the hotel and much smaller than ours, with sloping ceilings they hit their head off and
Better than expected! Our family was confused because of previous reviews but we spent fabulous two weeks in Hotel Lago. Our favourite spot was the Maldives pool with white sand but every pool was cosy, we always found free sunbeds and parazols for 4 persons. If you feel like having a drink you always find something, f.e. smoothies and milkshakes at the Mignon Bar, signature long drinks at BonHeur Bar and Vago Bar is open 0-24, every night there is live music as well. Besides the main restaurant, try gözleme in Tiny Bites and pide at the Snack Spot, great meals during afternoons. We spent several hours at the outdoor couches at Cafe de Lago on the first floor, having Segafredo espresso macchiato, mocha, or a great tea, enjoying sea view during chilling. Rooms in wing 2 are better because they are far from the kitchen/smells, we had land view to a pine forest and the hills and it was quiet, too. I do not recommend Loft Rooms on floor 6, they are not so spacious and have only a tiny balcon, unless you book for 4-6 persons: a superior room on floor 5 and a loft room on floor 6, which are connected at the entrance door. The beach is covered with sand and small pebbles, the sea gets quickly deep, sea shoes help. Seen better elsewhere but it’s okay. In a nutshell I wish to go back as soon as possible!
We were greeted on arrival We were greeted on arrival, check in was very quick and we were taken to our room, the luggage followed. A very pleasant room with pool view and the sea. The room was spotless nice bathroom with walk in shower, toiletries available, personally I prefer my own. Plenty of coat hangers and drawer space, our bed was very comfortable, pillows not bad although they got hot. Tea coffee facilities a small filled fridge with water beer orange drink which was filled daily, also a large bottle of water. Air conditioning in the room but we didn’t use it, we left our balcony door slightly open at night, no mosquitoes. Small table and chairs and an ash tray to use if you smoke. There was a small line for your swimming gear. The room was cleaned daily, towels changed regularly and bedding changed every other day. Buffet breakfast, something for everyone, you couldn’t possibly go hungry, lunch more than enough choice, and the evening buffet once again you wouldn’t go hungry, when we were there from 5th November-15th November all was pretty calm I’d imagine it would be heaving throughout the summer months and extremely hot! Also lots of children. Entertainment in the evening if you want it, otherwise plenty of bars. Lots of sun loungers whilst we were there. Cafe next to the beach. Towels free. Outdoor pool was exceptionally clean but freezing cold 🥶. Indoor pool heated okay for fit people. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to use as there was no easy way for me to enter the pool, very close parallel steps (I’m slightly disabled and wasn’t able to get in or out of the poo!) They do have a mobile hoist but no one knew how to use it properly hence it was dangerous, this needs to be addressed asap otherwise an accident could occur, I might add I was very sad that I wasn’t able to swim as I was so looking forward to it. The reception staff very helpful and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. Oscar was an excellent front of house and he booked the A La Carte restaurants, we had the Mexican but our favourite was the Italian restaurant, it was fabulous, beautiful decor and the food was great. Now the backbone of keeping the hotel and gardens tidy and spotlessly clean were the cleaners gardeners and the room cleaners they deserve to be well rewarded, everyone connected to the hotel were amazing. Arcanus thank you.
