波爾泰旅館(Poltair Guest House)

Pension familiale agréable située à 5mn à pied de la gare. L’ambiance est familiale, les chambres ensoleillées avec balcon et vue sur la mer (plage tout proche, tt comme les chemins de rando). Le personnel est charmant, on vous fait la chambre sur demande et oui on doit choisir entre 3 horaires de petit dej -le dernier à 9:15- mais rien d’insurmontable, si on veut un buffet stérile autant aller dans une chaîne d’hôtel. Plusieurs choix de petit dej selon les intolérances, l’appétit, le continental peut être monté en chambre, sympa, non ? L’endroit est calme la nuit. Avis pour ceux qui veulent s’y rendre en voiture (pas notre cas), Falmouth est très prisée, le parking de la gare est à deux pas si plus de parking devant la pension.

Wonderful place. I agree with the review which said that although the staff (waitpeople etc) is very friendly and charming, the owner or manager is rather brusque and stiff. The hot water in our sink did not work for the first day and the manager was less than ideal in fixing it (fortunately, it didn't affect the shower). However, aside from that, the property is LOVELY with a fishpond, a smallish garden, and balconies/patios for several rooms; the room itself (Osprey) has a superb view and a patio, as well as being rather spacious for a UK guesthouse. Breakfast is in a nice room with window seating available; the staff at breakfast were completely outstanding, warm, and helpful in every way. Good, if not exceptional, food, and lots of it. Location on second row back from beach, so a pleasant quick walk; not too far to town/restaurants. I would stay here many more times.

Lovely room with the most comfortable bed . Warm and cosy , the place is well heated. Room had fresh milk and with coffee and tea available. Also a complementary mini bottle of wine. Fluffy towels and nice on suite facilities. Staff so friendly and welcoming. The Guest House was looking fabulous with festive decorations and lights .

Cramped room with low ceiling. I hit my head twice on a low beam over the bed. Breakfast was average. Accommodations were booked through a tour company on our behalf and we were certainly disappointed.

We arrived early and our lovely host was so apologetic about the room not being ready! Even made us a cup of tea. What a warm welcome and totally unexpected, we thought we’d have to drop our suitcases and be banished until check in time. 😁 We were very relieved to discover our Heron Room was located on the ground floor as our suitcases are heavy. A very clean and spacious room, comfortable beds and tea/coffee, chocolates …even a little bottle of wine. So thoughtful. Breakfast offered a good variety, even kippers which I love. Delicious. Parking is out on the street but easy and plenty of places.

I paid for two nights to stay here and was charged $300 even though they gave my room away. I had to momentarily cancel two hotels for a family emergency back home that thankfully resolved itself quickly. When I tried to get my room back after less than 24-hours, (unlike the other hotel) I didn't get a response for hours and had to book elsewhere to rebook my tour. They finally told me they had already rebooked my room but that they had another bigger room I could have for more money. By then it was too late to change. The other hotel in Exeter refunded all of my money since the room was rebooked. This hotel made $ on both ends and was full. It really sucks to lose so much money when the hotel was just being greedy and wasn't out any money at all. I spoke to the manager who said she couldn't do anything. At least I stayed in a much nicer place. A friend from the tour showed me her room on the bottom level - it was old, dark, and dingy. It reminded me of a sad basement that a struggling student would live in. Not a place I would have wanted to stay at all. I had a lovely bright and freshly painted room with lovely decor and a view of the ocean - for the same price. And there my money actually paid for a room for me to stay in!

A pleasant hotel in a quiet road near the beach with easy free on road parking . Our room Osprey was very clean and spacious with nice comfy beds and a decent sized ensuite bathroom. A good cooked breakfast each morning in a nice sunny dining room. The waitress was very friendly but felt the owners lacked a bit of warmth (quite business like manner). Overall very good though.

I stayed 3 nights in a twin room. Decor is fair, room was nice and clean and comfy bed. A fridge was included in the room but fresh milk had turned sour for coffee in the morning. Also the toilet kept blocking with paper as it was an inside bathroom which was tricky.
