We were recommended the pub for lunch while looking at cars. Friendly staff. Got served right away. Had soup with sausage roll which was delicious. We didn't use them but there were big tables available for larger parties. The area was segmented so the noise level was low. Pretty and full of character. Would definitely go back.

Wonderful vibrant inn with fabulous rooms . We arrived after a busy day of travel and visit to Exmouth , 20 mins away . We were happily welcomed and went straight to the room which as every conceivable luxury form neapresso machine to fabulous bedding , bed was fantastic comfy . We went for dinner and it was fabulous , steak night , so we had 2 steaks with wonderful sauces and a started with a bottle of wine for £60 and we were stuffed . Slept brilliantly and then headed in side for a delicious breakfast , included in our room , we paid £135 for room b and b , great value Staff we wonderful and service fabulous . Well Definitely come again soon .

What a gem. The room was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, highlighting local history. Our meal was superb, with plenty of variety on the menu, absolutely spoiled for choice. The staff were great. The pub is a 13th century building, eclectically decorated without losing any of the character and charm.

5* This was an amazing accommodation. The pub/restaurant is amazing with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The decor is tasteful and cosy. With helpful and friendly staff. The food was lovely if a little on the cool side, it just needed to be bought out quicker. In saying that my party didn’t find this to be the case. The menu is extensive and the quality of the food was excellent The rooms are stunning. I have stayed in 5* accommodation but this is up there with the best. The web site does not do there rooms justice as they do not capture the full ambience of the room. It was a genuine pleasure to stay there. We will return x

Excellent rooms, staff very attentive and friendly, food nicely prepared and varied, would definitely recommend disabled rooms and access have been well thought about, newly opened rooms made it a very enjoyable experience. Very easy access from M5.

Hidden beauty. The restaurant and rooms are to a high standard.we stayed in the mary suite you get choice or shower or bath I loved that. Slept like a baby the beds were so comfortable. Fridge with milk in tea,coffee great. Roast dinner was amazing 👏 hats of to that chef

Lovely room . Fantastic shower . Huge comfy bed . Lots of thoughtful touches in the room . Great breakfast and excellent service .Pretty village - convenient for Exeter . We were running late and they were very helpful allowing us to order dinner before checking in etc .
