Zonder auto wel lastig te bereiken maar mooi , schoon en klantvriendelijk hotel met super ontbijt

Goed hotel. Perfect gelegen op wandelafstand van het station en op 100m van het centrum. Prima ruime kamer, schoon, met goede indeling en een lekkere douche. 1 minpunt is het bed. Natuurlijk een persoonlijke mening, maar het bed was te zacht en het kussen te klein.

Het voordeel van dit hotel is dat het tegenover het station staat. Sommige schrijvers geven aan dat het gehorig is aan de voorzijde en dat klopt, maar men kan niet anders verwachten gezien de locatie. Parkeren is goed mogelijk tegen redelijke prijzen in de directe omgeving van het hotel. Uitmuntend personeel, mooie kamers, prettig ontbijt en gezien de prijs, prima in verhouding. Roosendaal heb ik als zeer oninteressant ervaren, enkele sombere straten richting het centrum gaven het idee dat wij in Haarlem Noord wandelden en daar wordt men bepaald niet vrolijk van. Overigens zou de gemeente de rode aanwijsbordjes eens moeten actualiseren. Als men op zoek gaat naar het centrum, kunnen deze bordjes verwarrend werken, ze zijn soms verborgen achter andere aanwijsbordjes en veel te klein. Wellicht heeft iemand het grappig gevonden enkele bordjes de verkeerde kant op te plaatsen? Maar in het centrum aangekomen (na een forse omweg en hulp van erg aardige mensen), treft men een vrij levendig gebeuren qua restaurants en andere horeca gelegenheden aan, met alweer bijzonder vriendeljjke mensen. Misschien is dat wel het geheim van Roosendaal, de vriendelijke en behulpzame inwoners. Ik vind dit hotel een aanrader als men deze stad moet bezoeken.

We selected this location as strategically located close to the National Park of Biesbosh, and highly rated for the quality of its restaurant. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and we were positively impressed by the outside décor of the reception. Nevertheless, our high expectations were immediately disappointed when we entered our room, number 129. The room immediately reminded us of a hospital room with its plain and white decoration. In addition, the small space, uncomfortable bed, filthy mold on the windows (see photo), and dirty broken shower (see photo) and poor sound insulation made our stay really uncomfortable. We did our check out the morning after and the staff did not bother to ask us how our stay was. We do not recommend to book this place. For 110 EUR per night (exc. breakfast) totally not worth it. Just try the food at the restaurant and find a better place where to stay.

This hotel has a nice cosy entrance and the personel is very friendly. The room we stayed in at the third level was clean and spacy, and has a window that can be opened. There 's a mini fridge that cooled our stuff perfectly. There ś a table where you can sit at, and eat and drink. There 's also a waterkettle and coffee and teabags. A nice drawing on the wall above the beds. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom is large, too. It has a glass sliding door and a shower with thermostat valve. There is a parking beneath the hotel ($), and you can also park your car for free close in front of the hotel. We had a perfect stay for 2 nights and we love to come back sometime again. The villagecentre is about a 20 minutes walk from the hotel. There is a waterferry (for bikes and people only) that cruises every 15 minutes on the Merwede river to Dordrecht.

When staying at the hotel we couldn’t fault it. Children stay free if sharing a room, and we had booked to visit Efteling. We didn’t realise but our stay coincided with carnival, for this reason I think we were allocated a room at the back of the hotel (as I can imagine those front facing would be very noisy - there is a huge stage directly in front of the hotel at this time, as well as many food vans and outside bars etc - not that any of this worried us). So our room was on the 5th floor at the rear with a direct view of the multi story car park! (But we didn’t book for a view!). The room was well equipped with a comfy bed and a seperate shower and toilet. Everything was very clean. The only issue I would say regarding the rooms is that they were very dark so it was hard to see your items in the wardrobe. Not a big deal! The staff on reception were really helpful and chatty, and gave us lots of advice. It’s super easy to reach Efteling from here, we walked to the coach station (just by the train station) and there were regular buses. Again children travel free. You could walk to the station in about 10-15 mins. The shopping streets are very close to the hotel, and nice for a stroll - plenty of places to eat etc. we enjoyed backwerk bakery just a couple of shops down from the hotel, they did fresh smoothies and juices and lovely fresh sandwiches. Perfect for brunch/lunch. There is a Taco Bell next to the hotel! My son wanted to try it but we didn’t get chance! The issue for us came out check out, our flight wasn’t until the evening so we asked to use the secure luggage room for our case so we could enjoy our last day. We came back to the hotel to pick up our bag, and make our way to the airport. I was let in to the luggage room to get our case, but it had gone. The staff didn’t know what to do, apart from check and speak to other staff members. Eventually I asked to see the manager as we really needed to leave (fortunately we had been sensible and kept our passports and money etc on us). And I was asking for something in writing to say they had “lost” our case - as I didn’t feel comfortable just leaving with no proof (they also wanted to take the luggage receipts - I think because they wanted to figure out what had happened). The manager was “checking the CCTV” but upon our second request did come out and see us. She did apologise for the case going missing (after a long time!! More hearing about how strange this was?!?) and said if it “wasn’t found” they would replace it. At this point I was getting concerned about travelling home without any of our things, especially with my son, for example some warmer clothes, his switch!! I felt the customer service here was lacking, there was no gesture here - could they assist us getting to the airport for example - She did offer to go to the shop but by this point we were cutting it so fine to get to the airport / which we said to her!
