Beautifully designed space, spacious room and thoughtful details throughout. Especially loved the earth elements, natural material finishes, eco products and healthy breakfast. The location felt private and safe. There is also a wonderful common outdoor area to lounge. Would definitely stay again!

Our one-night stay at 12 Senses was exactly what we had hoped for: a beautiful, clean room, a quiet night of sleep, kind service, delicious breakfast. The “Fire” room is elegant, thoughtfully designed, beautifully appointed with a wool mattress and topper; great linens; a spotless tile floor, a gas fireplace (instead of a tv); and creative soundproofing - check out the recycled corrugated leather and felted wall….. The room came with lovely special touches: two bottles of Prosecco on ice and loose leaf chamomile tea that was fresh and delicious - chocolate, too. Wonderful coffee. Owner Anke has mastered green design as well as great hospitality. Although we didn’t make use of the rooftop lounge and open-air kitchen, they are beautiful and inviting. A more private location might have brought our stay to the next level, as the building sits on a well-traveled corner across from a school in a dense neighborhood. Nonetheless, the area was absolutely quiet the night we were there. Much gratitude and admiration for the vibe and beauty at 12 Senses!

I returned last week after staying here in 2023, and will stay here again next year. The room was spacious, filled with light, contemporary, and perfect. Everything is thoughtfully sustainable, made from natural fibers and everything needed is provided. The breakfasts are delicious and fresh and the coffee is equally delicious. A delight to call this home for my 5 day yearly trips to Encinitas.

We had the most lovely stay for our babymoon this past weekend. The whole set up and design is so relaxing and peaceful. The breakfast each morning was delicious and it was the best latte I’ve ever had! Anke, the owner, is kind, attentive and made us feel right at home. This is a special place. We will absolutely be back.
