We called just for a drink on our way home. Sunny and warm enough at end of March (Mother’s Day) to sit outside at 7pm , a bonus. The outside areas are clean with well maintained furniture and beautifully planted. Very good service and a very generous gesture to give all mums a complimentary glass of fizz whether dining or simply having a drink as were we. Delightful- a consistently pleasant experience, well done to all who work there to achieve this.

Good service and pleasant staff excellent choice of food which very tasty rooms are nicely decorated with good facilities very quiet and comfortable (good night's sleep) will visit again although this visit was for a sad occasion (funeral) the hotel brightened our visit

Second time we’ve taken advantage of the Winter Offer and we were not disappointed. The staff are fantastic, friendly, cheerful and always ready to go that extra mile to make sure your stay is enjoyable. It’s great that dogs are welcome and treated with as much care as their owners. The restaurant provided outstanding food both for breakfast and dinner, with a varied menu and quality food… and an incredibly good cheeseboard. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. We are very much looking forward to coming back to stay again next year

A wonderful return trip to this lovely, welcoming, friendly hotel. This is our 4th visit, and still impresses us each time. Nice quiet dog friendly room, top beers in the bar (especially the Osset White Rat) evening meals were excellent, hearty breakfast before our long coastal walks in this stunning area of Northumberland. Our Labrador Ruby was welcomed everywhere by friendly staff who were polite, efficient, and forever helpful. Three great nights, and glorious weather too. Perfect, thanks to everyone at the hotel. A real pleasure to spend time here, and see Paul and his team again.

Visited the hotel with family. Arrived the Friday night leaving on the Sunday. The food really was excellent and in particular the Christmas dinner served on the Saturday evening. One slight criticism was the view from room 15. Though I do understand that not every guest could have a good view.

A lovely visit. Had an evening meal of fish and chips and we absolutely couldn't fault it! Best fish and chips I can remember. Staff were lovely too and on a pretty busy night. The Christmas decs were up and gave it a great atmosphere. The manager of the restaurant was so helpful and even offered to take some photos for us. Can't wait to return!
