What a great little hotel. As this is on a pedestrianised street, there is no parking directly at the hotel BUT, a few days ahead of our stay I contacted the hotel to see which car park would be most suitable to park in & preferably, a free one. No problem at all! The hotel got straight back to me to give me the postcode of the nearest one to them & told me if I rang as we were on approach then they would programme our registration number into their parking system & we could park completely free, with no need to put anything on the car windscreen. This we did with ease & although the weather was awful when we arrived, it was literally 2 minutes round the corner to the hotel so we hardly got wet either. On arrival we were checked in swiftly & on entering our room, were very pleased. The room had been booked as a gift so we had no idea what to expect but it was wonderful. Small & compact but very well thoughtout to make the most of the space & everything we could possibly want was there. The bed was wonderful, soft pillows that felt like sleeping on a cloud, comfy mattress & a perfect tog quilt. Breakfast was served between 8:30 & 10:00 so no need to rush up & check out was at a leisurely 11:00. We only stayed the one night as we were on a night out with friends but we felt like we'd had a mini break by the time we left. Absolutely, without doubt, we will return.

Staff are 1st class. A really lovely small hotel . I must mention Rowena & Ben who were chatty, professional & both had great people skills ! Highly recommended. The rooms are quickly and furnished beautifully. It was really hot when we stayed and extra fans weee provided.

We stayed for two nights and returned yesterday. My sister lives in Louth but this hotel provides a perfect solution for our large family to stay closeby without the need for sleeping on sofas etc. We booked 3 double rooms for 3 couples and a baby. The hotel has no lift, but we knew this when we booked so don’t feel I can moan about it afterwards! It was tricky with the pram, but we managed and it wasn’t a problem! Alice was so thoughtful with our booking - making sure we were in quieter rooms as there was a beer festival taking place, and she knew we had a baby. The rooms are immaculate, beds incredibly comfy, fabulous toiletries, a delicious breakfast with great coffee, and lovely staff throughout our stay. One lady opened up the seating area for me to feed the baby in the evening (the family were at the beer festival!) which I thought was really kind. This was my third stay in the hotel and I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in this lovely market town. Thank you to Alice and the rest of the team 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

We had a good stay but was informed that due to kitchen refurb there was no meals on the first night but this was also the case on the second night. on leaving we mentioned this but was informed that they did not do meals at night. if we were informed of this then we would never have booked the stay as we struggled to get a meal on the Tuesday as most places were shut.

Disappointed didn’t have green milk for my coffee when they said they did. And the soup that was on the menu, wasn’t the soup of the day of which changed twice and waited about 30 minutes for this to come with a teacake

Checking in closes at 8.00pm. I advised the hotel I would arrive at 8.00pm and then had to walk to the hotel, so I arrived at 8.05pm. Ben waited for me to give my keys directly, to the room and hotel front door. Which was great. I asked for a iron/ iron board and Ben fetched both and brought them to my room. Breakfast was excellent with good quality ingredients. Served by Ben.

Lovely hotel right in the middle of Louth. Bedrooms are big and really nicely decorated and kitted out. Bathroom was spacious too. To top it all, one of the best hotels breakfasts ever.

Lovely hotel, given a warm albeit a little awkward (the previous guest hadn't returned the key) welcome. As lovely as the hotel is, with great potential and friendly staff, our stay went downhill from there. 1st morning we ordered breakfast, although relaxed I thought 30+ minutes was a little excessive to wait, when it did arrive we were served salmon instead of bacon, it was dealt with promptly although did extend the wait further. My husband ordered firm yolk, perfect, I ordered mine as normal, unfortunately I had to scrape some of the uncooked egg white out. We went out for the day, on our return, approx 4pm, the room had not been serviced, we weren't fussy about clean towels or the bed being made, but clean coffee cups, replenished coffee and toilet paper were required, on visiting reception, this was dealt with promptly. Night 2 (saturday), horrendous, the hotel is situated next to a micro-pub, which played very loud music until the early hours, which inevitably we had to close the window (in an already warm room). My husband phoned the out of hours emergency number (the hotel is unmanned at night) to ask advice and allow them to listen to the noise pollution we were experiencing, there was no reply on the EMERGENCY number. It was dealt with the following morning, where a £40 goodwill gesture was refunded. Breakfast 2, ordered firm yolk to prevent repeat of previous morning. My egg white was so burnt I couldn't cut through it. Over 30+ mins again.

We now stay regularly at The Masons Arms when visiting family in the area. We always enjoy a warm welcome and the hotel continues to impress. The modern design is sympathetic to the history of the hotel. The central Louth location is great with access to all the local amenities. The off-site car park within easy walking distance allows for escapes to the surrounding country.
