Arrived at property same time as another guest and he phoned owner who gave us code to get in and let us know we’re to get keys for room. Room was lovely with tea and coffee facilities and comfy bed. Bathroom sink was blocked. Overall nice accommodation and close to bus stop for town.

Generally not bad, however there was no WiFi as said in the description.

The room didn't have wifi and poor reception for use of own smart phone. No one on premises to assist. No reception. A little over-priced for such basic level of service. Otherwise, rooms were OK.

What was good: cleanliness, comfortable bed, decent temperature in room, wifi. What was bad: after booking I emailed with a few questions but got no reply. Information said to check in between 1 and 5 but there was no-one there. Another guest who happened to arrive at the same time would have been stuck ashe had no mobile phone. Website said continental breakfast was provided but there was none. This merits a partial refund. Shower temperature was difficult to control and I was nearly scalded. Worst of all, there was no toilet paper either in my en-suite or the shared toilet. I discovered that just in time! I saw no staff at any time during my stay. I will not be back.

The room was excellent and had all the facilities. It was very clean and well maintained. The whole property. It was easy to get into the centre of Edinburgh by public transport. There were no staff at the property but there were contact numbers so this was a minor issue. I did need to use tge contact numbers and had no difficulty in getting through any get any issue resolved.

This property should not be let out… I can’t say anything positive about Murrayfield Park Guest House. It was a total disappoin**ent and the property presents as nothing like what you see in the photos on the booking site. Look at the photos on this review and let the owners tell you it’s the same property! Disliked · We were put in a room that was in the middle of renovations. The fire alarm was connected after I complained about the wires hanging freely from the ceiling. There were no light fittings. No handle on the bathroom door. No soap dish or toilet roll holder. No TV despite the caretaker promising one would be installed. The room hadn’t been cleaned and the caretaker vacuumed the room and fitted a smoke detector and bathroom door handle when we went out for dinner. As mentioned the room is being renovated. The shower is very small but has the most high tech shower unit I’ve ever seen. It’s so big it sticks out approximately 200mm in a 900mm shower and you knock it washing yourself effecting the water temperature and flow. The person who selected this shower and tap unit failed to consider the small size of the shower. The cleaner was off sick after our first night apparently so there garbage wasn’t emptied and there was no cleaning done nor clean towels provided. The overall property is dirty. There are paint stains on the hallway carpet. The garbage bins out the front were overflowing when we arrived and were not emptied during our 5 day - 4 night stay. There were cigarette butts at the entrance that were ignored and there for the entirety of our stay. There is no provision to leave your bags when you vacate the property to be picked up in the afternoon. This is a very basic service offered everywhere I’ve stayed. The Wi-Fi is so poor it actually says in the foyer Wi-Fi available to most rooms. This property should not have been let out. We were given the opportunity to cancel our booking but were without a car and anywhere else to stay. This property also doesn’t meet fire regulations which are posted on their wall.

El check in fue un desastre. Aún no estaban listas las habitaciones y cuando nos dieron el ok, no estaban hechas y no eran las que habíamos reservado. El resto bien. Solo necesitaba dormir y ducharme una noche. El olor a humedad es injusto mencionarlo si de escocia se trata. Creo que estuvo bastante aceptable por el precio. Y con jarra eléctrica para café o té.

What a disappoin**ent for our first visit to beautiful Edinburgh...while we had read reviews that were less than flattering, we chose to take a chance on the 'guest house' as it was close to campus and we were visiting with our daughter, a perspective student-HUGE mistake. Front door wide open, no answer at any of the 3 numbers that we called to 'check-in,' building terribly rundown and unkept, filthy stairwells, etc., tiny single beds barely staying upright when we were lying down, uncomfortable towels, sheets and bedding, cramped room, constant noise, and so much more in the negative column. Really would like all or most of my money back, but probably impossible as I am not sure there is anyone really caring for the property and its guests.

Great price. My room was nicer than I expected, with a great shower and very hot water. Location isn’t super convenient, but Edinburgh’s small enough that it wasn’t a problem (e.g., 20 min to Uber to Old Town, including wait time). The only downside was that last-minute booking is doable but not convenient. They didn't send any check-in instructions (door code, room number, how to get a key), they didn’t have anyone onsite (they don’t have a reception desk, so perhaps that’s typical), and they only listed support options by phone (which didn’t work with my data-only international phone plan). Fortunately they responded within 10 minutes of me emailing them.
