白廳飯店暨釀酒廠(The Whitehall Hotel & Distillery)

Lovely little hotel but a few minor things missing could have made the stay even better. The hotel itself is really lovely and in a nice setting, it’s an old building but the room could have definitely used a touch up, peeling wallpaper in places, chipped skirting boards and some stains on the ceiling weren’t very pretty and could have really made the room perfect. The bed itself was super comfy The bathroom was huge with a large bath which seemed to have the option of a jacuzzi inside however this doesn’t work - bit disappointed. Bathroom could benefit from a proper shower as we really struggled getting the temperature of the water right, takes a lifetime for the hot water to come through and when it did, it was way too hot and took ages to adjust to the right temperature, my other half did slightly burn his foot on the first morning! The lack of toiletries was surprising as there were none at all and I don’t believe this was advertised when booking the room which meant the first night we had no shower gel to shower with. Adding some basic complimentary toiletries like most hotels would have been a little bonus. Breakfast was lovely, was no buffet but fresh and made to order. The staff were very accommodating and let us order variations of what was on the menu. The food tasted and looked great. I have seen other reviews not happy with the lack of access after 11pm however we were advised that if we were going to return late that we could request a key to the front door so this definetly wasn’t an issue, the staff were great and very helpful and friendly

This is a great place to stay, our go-to place when visiting family. Staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Spotlessly clean, some parts need a little TLC. Great breakfast which is freshly home cooked. Big thanks to Blake and all the team for another wonderful stay.

They double booked me, took a deposit and phoned me up to aggressively demand my bank details. They refused to refund me without getting my bank details. Don't give them money unless you're sure you're getting something. Oh and stay at the Astley Bank as it's really nice with great staff.

We spent 2 nights here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and had a lovely time. The room was spacious, clean and warm ( always a plus on a cold day!), the young receptionist was helpful and friendly, breakfast and dinner were tasty and hot, basically I can't fault it! Very good value for money and would recommend to anyone looking for something a little bit special!

The gin experience was excellent. Blake was really engaging and the evening was a lot of fun. The gins were lovely - it was nice to try a few of their concoctions as well as making our own bottle (and we were so happy with how our bottle turned out!). The food platter was really delicious too, and plentiful! Would highly recommend. Knocked down to 4 out of 5 as the hotel rooms are really quite tired and need some TLC! Our room was so dark too - not enough lighting at all. Breakfast was okay but continental options were a bit lacking. We stayed as we don't live locally, but if you don't need the accommodation I'd recommend booking the gin experience without the hotel stay.

Attended for gin experience Met by Blake our host who was friendly, quickly shown to the distillery part of the hotel, great set up The evening commenced with a good measure of Whitehall original gin Blake was animated and informative in his discussion around the history of gin, clearly passionate about his job. He directed us well in how to make our bottle of gin Throughout the course of the evening we were provided with 2 further gins to try- both delicious. The added bonus of a sharing platter was well received We adjourned to the lounge area and whilst yes the decor is dated the fire was lit and cosy The young lady serving was attentive, friendly and our ordered drinks arrived swiftly. Would def recommend the gin experience £95 per couple - 3 drinks, a sharing platter and the opportunity between you to make your own gin is fabulous. Thank you for a lovely evening

Had an excellent Chri**as 3 course meal with friends last Thursday. Very attentive waitress Eve/Evie. Very quiet only 4 of us dining (2pm) Which was a shame should be more enjoying Whitehall experience! Cost very reasonable. Only small criticism not enough veg which wasnt hot enough.

Lovely hotel, very comfortable, staff very pleasant. The hotel staff were very accommodating and we were able to have a lovely early dinner which suited our arrangements. The lounge area is very comfortable, all beautifully decorated for Chris**as and we will come again

I was due to visit Whitehall Hotel yesterday with friends for the Golden Oldies Festive Lunch. The meal was booked and a deposit paid 6 weeks ago. On Saturday my friend (who made the booking) received a very abrupt phone call saying that they’d had a booking for a larger party and no longer had room for us. There was no apology given and it was difficult to book a replacement Chris**as lunch at such short notice.
