Our experience at this hotel was not up to a 4 star standard at all. The outside of the hotel facing the beach looks grubby and run down, where as when you walk into the hotel the main entrance lobby is the only modern part about it. We were put into an 'upgraded room' since we had a small dog with us, however after being in the room for 5 minutes, myself and my partner noticed the room was filthy, crumbs on the floor, mirrors were marked and the paintings along with the lights in the room were just caked in dust so I went downstairs and complained. They then said they would move us into a room on the 2nd floor, which we found to be even worse than the previous room we walked into, the room smelt of paint giving us both a bit of a headache and it was extremely hot in the room, so we turned off the heater and the heated towel rail in the bathroom but yet throughout the whole night it was still absolutely roasting so our sleep was disturbed. Certainly will not be visiting this hotel again and luckily we only stayed for 1 night as we would have left if we were staying any longer.

Came over a little queer while away rang emergency services for help, that was last week ha ha. Apart from that just look after yourself always knowing your on holiday. Grin and bear it. Only here once I'm told. Couldn't fault the place, I tried but couldn't. Ps better than NHS food any day of the Milena. Keep up the good work. Pps if you don't agree don't read then.

Nice hotel

Staff are great and room had everything I needed. Very reasonable price.

Comfy bed, warm shower, good location, friendly staff.

Bacon off.sausages not cooked. No tea or coffee as machines broken. Staff rude. Bar staff had told to turn down music. Room not serviced. Entertainment only on for one hour.

We decided to book a last minute trip to get out the house after Xmas. Rates were very reasonable so we took the family. We were upgraded to two single room with a view and could actually see the sea! Buffet breakfast filled the kids the next morning despite there being a power cut. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you very much!

so we were lucky to arrive when reception was quiet and the receptionist was happy and quick. we had a lovely room with sea view cannot fault the room at all very clean and large. the breakfast was ok , but as xmas/new year the kitchen was not always open plus no house keeping, but i manage to get some supplies for the room. we were lucky because my sister booked after me and her room was dreadful, for a double room, plus they could not open the window or turn down the heating so was unbearable for them , plus the bathroom had not been cleaned, she had a terrible experience. We however were lucky

Tried to get us to pay again although we had already paid. Staff were rude & totally non understanding. Would never go there again.

I really like to stay there is peaceful i guarantee i will come back but this time i would like a top sea front thank you to have me and im sorry about any thing if was incorrect well i think In my best behavior so thank you and see you guys next mouth Love much respect keep going Rui Almeida

We went out of season when the hotel was quite quiet. We were upgraded to a fabulous room overlooking the sea and bandstand. Breakfast was plentiful but cold. I'm sure when it is busier it would be fine. The bar was very quiet so no atmosphere. We love Eastbourne and have stayed at a lot of hotels there. The Cavendish is one of the best.
