Our room (room 8) was gorgeous- spacious, with a sea view and lovely en suite bathroom with a bath and shower. A suite really. Janine and her son Ben and their team couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. It feels luxurious and opulent - more like a luxury hotel than a B&B and there’s a wealth of interesting wall art, books and ornaments. The breakfast was delicious too - juices yoghurts fresh fruit and cereals to start and a menu of cooked options as well as smoked salmon. Truly wonderful - we’ll be back!

This was our second stay at this wonderfully located B&B, just metres from the seafront, Towner Gallery, Compass Theatre and a good choice of restaurants offering everything from simple fish & chips to fine dining. The hosts are warm, welcoming and helpful, as are the staff. Fresh fruits, yogurts and a wide choice of cereals are offered for breakfast while a choice of scrummy ingredients are available for a 'Full English'. We were offered an upgrade to a 'sea view' room which was an added bonus.

I booked this hotel for a special treat and event in the area. The reviews seemed solid and I was excited. My booking was £225 for 2 nights for one room. Now WHY the 1 star rating, you ask? Well, buckle in! I'm a well travelled person and I've worked in the travel biz before. I *know* the decorative items: throw cushions and bed runners etc in hotels are not often cleaned - certainly not for every new guest (sorry to be the bearer of bad news if you didn't know that!). It always bothers me that uncleaned, used items that spend most of their time on the floor are put back on the freshly cleaned pillows/bed, especially in pet friendly hotels! But whatever! So, I made a simple, polite request in the notes section at the end of my booking to not have those items placed on my bed. I figured it would probably be ignored anyway and didn't think anything else of it. However, the response I got was...unexpected to say the least, and genuinely unhinged at the most! You can read it for yourself in the pictures. You'd think if they DID wash them they would just say 'madam, they are cleaned so you've nothing to worry about, thank you for your message'. But obviously they don't clean them here and....they got super mad about me questioning it. In response to my request that couldn't possibly have caused an inconvenience to them the staff were angry and instantly had a terrible attitude towards a paying customer. They tried to bully me into cancelling my own booking, and then threatened me with cancellation. They did actually try to cancel my booking but they weren't legally allowed to - I had to be the one to cancel it through BDC. They refused to communicate any further. I was really struggling to find something else but I honestly felt unsafe staying with such unwell people so I had no choice but to cancel. Luckily I did eventually find something much better for me and my friend who had booked into the same hotel under her own booking. So their little hissy fit over their manky cushions cost them about £550, so hope it was worth the savings on the laundry lol! I wouldn't recommend you stay here. The owners are clearly unhinged if you criticise them or question them, even lightly. And they don't clean their stuff, so up to you lol!

We have stayed here a number of times and you cannot fault the service or the rooms. Breakfast is lovely, close to the beach. Owners are lovely

Carolann From start to finish one amazing place to stay. Friendly, welcoming people and clean rooms. The best breakfast and on the doorstep for the views and walks. Highly recommended hope to see them again soon.
