阿夫頓飯店(Afton Hotel)

Very cheep hotel , got allocated room 114 on 1st floor , the room was very very dated , the shower wasn't working, so we told reception , then to discover the toilet wasn't screwed down to the floor, so it wobbled whist sitting on it, then when it come to bedtime, the bed base was completely broken, so no sleep on our first night, we went to reception and told them, they sent a maintenance guy to our room , and looked at the bed, and then told us we can move to another room, which was 214 on the 2nd floor , very happy with this room , the only fault was the bathroom was freezing cold as the radiator wasn't working , but for a weekend stay or over night stay for great price . This hotel was good enough , the two staff we saw were friendly . No idea if they had a restaurant , as we wasn't offered food if we wanted breakfast or dinner? But the view we had from both rooms was lovely looking onto the pier 😀 .

An old building, in need of refurbishment internally. The single room was cramped and had a stained seat and carpet. The table had been painted with white emulsion over gloss and was peeling! Not surprisingly there was no air conditioning and it was necessary to have the window open. The view was pretty grim. There was a potential security issue as guests from other rooms could climb through the window if they wanted to! The bathroom was clean, thankful for small mercies! The price charged was expensive and did not represent value for money. The reception staff did not keep the desk attended at all times and the checking-in deadline was quite early for a hotel. I would not want to stay here again.

I really enjoyed staying here. We had a room in the 3th floor and the view to the see was amazing. The room is really lovely and cozy. We had a bathtub and it was great to have a bath in the end of the day. The staff was really helpful and kind.:) The location is perfect everything waa near. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

I cannot understand how this hotel has such a high rating from reviewers. We had a terrible stay here last weekend in Eastbourne for a triathlon. We were anticipating a basic hotel with only the essential amenities as we had seen the dated photos of the rooms. However, it was worse than expected. The room was dirty, unclean carpets, peeling paint, musty smelling. The mattresses desperately need replacing as we could feel the springs, we were only given one pillow each but it was barely passable as a pillow. We both slept terribly and have stayed in far nicer places for half the price we paid for this! It definitely isnt worth the money and we would not stay again. The staff were pleasant and provided us with fans due to the heatwave the UK was experiencing, unfortunately this does not make up for the rest of the issues with this hotel.

From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent. Sorted our car parking permit and explained the "system" to us. We had booked x5 rooms for a birthday weekend treat. All the rooms were clean and tidy with a sea view / view of the pier. We had brought a bottle of bubbly to kick start our birthday evening and the staff were quite obliging and offered champagne glasses and an ice bucket for our bottle of booze. Decent of them. Other requests were not a bother as well. The chamber maid was very pleasant and did a great job each day. Overall, we got a great hotel at a very reasonable price with the perfect location.

The room was very clean and tidy, as was the whole hotel, the food was 2nd to none, the staff couldn't do enough for us .it was such a lovely 5 day break, will definitely re visit. We met so many people with the same view as we have, so with a bit of luck we can all meet up again.

Great Hotel, lovely friendly staff! Clean rooms!! We were made to feel relaxed and welcome, the location is perfect!! They should be changing more! But I guess the star rating does not allow. Give this place a go and you won't be disappointed! Please remember it is not 5 * but I am Giving it 5***** see you again soon!
