A small boutique hotel in a residential road. Large rooms with a great view of the cathedral. On quite a steep road. Fine when you walk down it to get to the centre but more challenging on the way back! The breakfast is fine but you need to go out for other meals - there is a reasonable choice in town.Overall a good experience.

What a great little hotel in a brilliant location. So much value for money, the manager and chef was brilliant and made us feel more than welcome. The decor throughout is as stunning as the views from the bedroom window. We had the gala room with a roll top bath looking straight out to the cathedral. Can't wait to go again.

Beautiful Durham Hotel LOCATION: quiet leafy street, short walk into the beautiful.and charming city centre, cathedral, riverside bars, restaurants, shops & railway station. Some on street parking if required. ACCOMODATION: beautifully presented and tastefully decorated rooms. Immaculate en-suite with molton.brown toiletries STAFF: greeted by George, very friendly and welcoming. Waiting staff during.breakfast also excellent BREAKFAST: Menu of individually prepared cooked breakfasts, we can recommend the full english & eggs royale, delicious. Also cereals, yoghurts, fruit juices, toast options COST: moderate but well worth it. RECOMMENDED: 100% hopefully will be back NEGATIVE: Nothing, couldn't improve on perfection. Thanks

Absolutely faultlsss, second time we've stayed.. Beautiful hotel, room was amazing with beautiful viewsl. Sat in the bubble bath at 7.15am with sun shining in the room, views of the cathedral watching squirrels run up the trees...so very peaceful. George and staff were exceptional, very professional, friendly and accommodating. Perfect location, a minutes walk to shops/bars but set away in am idyllic, picturesque street. Definitely be back, can't recommend enough.

Simply the best place to stay in Durham. The rooms are incredibly comfortable - they are just perfect. George the hotel manager is one of the loveliest people you could ever meet. Loved the beautifully cosy new bar for an evening drink and breakfast was 5 star. The centre of town is just down the road. I have stayed in all the hotels in Durham - this is absolutely Number 1. Oh .. and did I mention that it has the best view of the Cathedral ..... I hope to be back soon!

We stayed here on our way up to Edinburgh for one night, George the hotel manager was helpful, welcoming and friendly. We booked the room with the bathtub in the room, it was great! The pictures don’t do it justice - the view of the cathedral at sunrise is insane. Loved the quirkiness of this hotel, the rooms are done to such a high standard and was so big Breakfast was included and George cooked us a lovely meal in the morning Parking is easy on the metre outside and it’s close to everything. Would recommend this every time and would love to come back
