"Stayed at the White Swan recently for 4 nights. We were in a group of 5. We had a great stay here using the hotel as a base. Breakfast was fantastic with a great choice. We also ate here in the evening and the food was excellent, each evening had specials on the menu, Sunday was our favourite with turkey and all the trimmings. Rooms were perfect for what we required and the beds were very comfortable. The staff made this stay with each and every one pleasant to speak to and service was exceptional. If we are back in the area next year we wont look anywhere else for accommodation."

"Lovely Scottish inn serving fresh local produce, comfortable and extremely clean room, fluffy white towels, Scottish highland toiletries and high quality bedding. It was just lovely. We enjoyed returning to the inn after a day sightseeing in the lovely borders where there is lots to see and do with majestic country houses, castles , museums and gardens to enjoy and what made it extra special was returning to the Allanton inn to enjoy a drink in the garden before dinner. Thanks to William and Katrina for your hospitality and to the lovely staff who help to make this a special place to stay."

"Our first visit to Green Hope and, I hope, it will not be the last. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed just being there in such a peaceful location, with such a pleasant outlook. The suite of rooms are all but perfect, for a couple, wheelchair users or solo travellers. (One small point: the switches for the bedside lamps are difficult to find and operate in the dark). And there are two "Sitooteries,**" each with stepped access, for use by the guests. One a Gazebo by the flat; the other, about fifty yards away, a Summer House with a veranda, overlooking the river. Alison and Bill, the owners living nearby, are very helpful when needed, but not intrusive. Perfect hosts. **"Sitootery:" A place to sit in/on, outside of the main dwelling. "The Coach House is in a quiet secluded location between Chirnside and Allanton. It's extremely peaceful and a great place to relax and unwind. The cottage is spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you need for your stay. Liz is very helpful and was available to answer any questions. It's a perfect place to stay for the Jim Clark Rally and I highly recommend it!"
