Waves Resort & Spa, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort

We enjoyed our stay at Waves Resort. It's a quaint resort that fosters a social atmosphere, allowing guests to easily connect with one another. We met several people from different parts of the world, adding to the charm of our stay. Staff: The staff went out of their way to please the guests. Special shout-outs to Tamika, who took care of us the entire stay, and Kenny at the bar. Every staff member made us feel special, always acknowledging us. Celebrating our anniversary was memorable with a bottle of wine, dessert in our room, and a special table set up for dinner. Beach: The beachfront location is stunning, providing a perfect backdrop for a tranquil vacation. The beach is shorter than expected, but didn't stop us from snorkeling and enjoying the multiple water sports. Although sailing wasn't possible due to wind conditions, snorkeling right outside the resort was a highlight, with fish and turtles. Our drinks never ran dry at the beach, thanks to the attentive staff. Rooms: The rooms were fine, though they could use a refresh in decor. Bed was comfortable Food: Dining options are varied, with a mix of à la carte and buffet styles. We enjoyed eating at Kyma (now called Organic & Co.), which offers quick eats like sandwiches, wraps, salads, pastries, and coffee. We also took the ferry to Crystal Cove resort as part of the Dine Around Program and dined at Reflections. The buffet-style meal was okay, but the open-air atmosphere was quite hot, even with fans. Activities: We signed up for the Friday Night Oistins Fish Fry, which was highly recommended. The hotel provided transportation, making it easy to enjoy the event. The Fish Fry featured numerous booths with different types of seasoned seafood, souvenirs, and music. It was packed, so grabbing an open table quickly was a good idea. Overall, Waves Resort & Spa is a wonderful choice for those looking to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Barbados. The combination of excellent service, beautiful views, and a variety of activities makes it a memorable destination. We would definitely come back again to the resort.

What a lovely experience we had at this hotel. The staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Our room was poolside over the road from the main hotel, spotless from top to bottom, well appointed and quiet with a comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. This side of the hotel has an adults only pool, service of drinks, ice lollues and fresh fruit provided to your lounger and provides blissful oasis of relaxation - delightful. The food was good in the Seascape restaurant, nice choice for breakfast with an egg station cooking to guests requirements. Lunch and dinner also good. The Indian restaurant “Doha” was excellent - a unique fusion of Caribbean and Indian food. We ate there on several evenings and couldn’t fault it. Slight downside for us which was no fault of the hotel was the beach which is very small and been affected by recent wind and tides. All said and done we would go back in a heartbeat and no doubt will!

For the third consecutive year, we booked a spa side one bedroom suite but for the third time were told we had been assigned a standard room. As before, it was only after making a huge fuss and refusing to accept this, we were eventually given a one bedroom suite overlooking the toilet rooftop. Following the refurbishment of the hotel, there were still a number of outstanding snagging issues that had not been resolved. For the second year, the Shiso restaurant was closed which meant the Seascape restaurant was extremely busy and staff were frequently overwhelmed. Ongoing refurbishment works were noisy and inconvenient. We doubt rebranding the hotel will make it better for the future and will not be returning. This is sad, as individual members of staff are lovely and are let down by their mangement and reservations team.

Waves gave us everything we asked for a then some! The views were top tier, the rooms were clean, the food was good and the staff was the most hospitable of any resort I’ve ever stayed in. There was nothing we asked for that we did not receive. Nothing! And everything as given with a smile and genuine care. Our restaurant host made sure we had food that we craved even though it wasn’t on the menu, every night, we ate there! They have staff literally walking about asking “how can they be of help” rather than waiting around for us to need something! And our source of support was Daron! Talk about professional, mature, caring and present! Everyday and every step of the way! Even added a birthday touch for my best friend who was the reason we made the trip! He set up excursions for us and transportation to Oistins! The fish was fire! The atmosphere was the party we needed to capitalize this trip. This was our first trip to Barbados and I must say that Waves made a lasting impression and set a standard on how people should be treated and treat others on an everyday occurrence. God willing we will be back and bringing others to receive the same luxury treatment we are still talking about today only at Waves! On behalf of me and my girls, we miss you guys already!

We had a fantastic time at the Waves hotel. Its small size makes it very special - it feels like a boutique hotel. The care and attention provided by the staff was incredible - from the amazing restaurant team, including Ether at the egg station, to the brilliant bar staff who were so lovely, and the team who kept the hotel immaculately clean. A big shout out goes to Antwone who led the special activities for kids over Easter - he was brilliant and was adored by all the children (including my 7 year old). The location of the hotel is lovely - the deck overlooking the sea is gorgeous and while the beach is quite small there was always space on the sun beds. The complimentary spa treatments were also great and I loved the yoga classes too. We could not recommend this place highly enough and hope to return!

My husband and I have recently returned from 12 nights at Waves Hotel and Spa and on the way home asked ourselves what we would write in a review. We both felt it was a holiday with two sides so I’ll explain. We enjoyed the majority of our stay mainly due to the wonderful staff who greeted us warmly and looked after us throughout our stay, with ONE exception (more of that later) which spoilt our last day. Our room was an ocean front balcony and the sun was just setting as we arrived into the room giving us the most spectacular view of the sunset framed beautifully by palm trees. The hotel has just been painted on the outside so looks fresh and we liked the décor of our room and the communal areas. The plus points: 1. The food was good quality and varied even though the Asian Restaurant was closed. 2. It was great to be able to go to Kyma the coffee shop for a salad, wrap or cake and coffee. 3. The adults only pool is only just over the road and is peaceful with a good size pool. 4. The complimentary treatments in the Spa were amazing. Thank you to Tonya and Riah for fantastic facials and massages. 5. The drinks are plentiful and readily available with good quality spirits. Just the wine could be improved. 6. I was made to feel special on my birthday with a card, wine and a song at dinner! Areas to be addressed/improved on: 1. The shower in our room would have benefited from being changed, difficult to wash my hair as very poor pressure and certainly not like the shower in the garden rooms which was excellent. 2. Sunbeds are reserved by guests by 7.30am. The hotel says this is not allowed but it certainly happened when we were there. Could have been because the hotel was very full due to guests being placed in Waves from other hotels which had closed for refurbishment since those guests made their bookings. 3. The sunbeds on the beach are very close to one another. If this area was tidied up they could be spaced a little more. They were so close it was hard to walk between them. 4. Air con unit is required in the food buffet area as so very hot when selecting breakfast and felt for any staff having to work in this area. 5. Pastries were of poor quality. I enjoy a coffee and croissant for breakfast but these were very small and hard so didn’t try them again. 6. On four nights we were woken at approximately 12.30 am by loud noises from the refuse collection that went on for 20 minutes each time. On our last day we asked if it possible to have a late check out as we were not leaving until 4.15pm. Initially this was agreed if we paid 50 US dollars (which we are still waiting to be refunded) but then we were informed our room had been promised to someone else to move into, a mistake but these things can be handled two ways. We were approached by Tamisha (from Reception) and a security guard and told we had 35 minutes to remove our things. This was at 12.55 pm. I found this embarrassing and heavy handed.
