I took my Grandson on holiday for his 18th, after loosing his Grandfather to cancer, I paid online with on the Beach upgrading to a bungalow apartment with sea views, which coat quite a lot more, but with what happened, I thought it would be a treat. On getting to the hotel, we was given a main hotel normal. standard room. Quite out dated. It did have sea views. But was not the bungalow we paid for, where we met friends and was gutted seeing what luxury they had in the bungalow compared to us, yet one couple had actually Ordered main reception and paid loads cheaper then us. On complaining to reception we was fobbed off with The manager upgraded us to main reception which was dearer, which is totally not true, she said this without even checking my name or room number, like they use same script. Would not change us to bungalow what we paid for. And never gave us our upgrad taxi we paid for, so extra £50, and we had to go airport by coach which took 3 times longer. never got what we paid for . On writing to on the Beach, just got same story... don't pay extra to upgrade as you don't get whet you pay for. Near 2k for basic room.
