Set high on Cornish Hill, Penny Farthing Daylesford is our private luxury retreat ideal for weekending couples or single and duo travelers looking to get away to the beautiful township of Daylesford and the surrounding Hepburn Spa, wine and epicurean district.Penny Farthing Daylesford is set at ground level amongst a lovely garden with a private entrance and its king sized bed is fitted with 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and luxurious linens to ensure a wonderful nights sleep.The spaceTastefully appointed throughout, the studio is self-contained and features a large deluxe king size bed fitted with 1000 thread Egyptian cotton sheets, plush and therapeutic pillows and a oversized "king double" soft duck down duvet.For the romantics and the enamored, the space is warm and inviting with a small and cosy lounge settee, plush pile rug and there are privacy drapes on all windows that overlook the Italian inspired garden.A brand new bistro-clinker-tile bathroom with walk in rain shower and custom designed vanity overlooks the vegetable garden to complete this lovely space.Accessible via the main driveway, you will enjoy your own private lockable entrance and from the street you will overlook the entire township of Daylesford with the church spires piercing the firesmoke during the colder months.There are no cooking facilities at Penny Farthing Daylesford but we provide you with a Nespresso coffee machine (includes cafe sourced pods from Melbourne and milk) to brew up a cappuccino in the morning and a small fridge to cool either the bubbles or the sport drink - depending on your needs and wants! Kettle and toaster with crockery and cutlery as well as the all important large wine glasses will ensure you have everything you need for your stay.We have installed a TV which has local and city HD channels as well as YouTube, Netflix and Google Play for those more content to lay in bed and watch a movie. The Lerderderg Track section of the Goldfields Trail is literally just behind Penny Farthing Daylesford.The Goldfields Track is a 210km long shared cycling and walking path between the towns of Ballarat and Bendigo in Central Victoria. It started out as the Dry Diggings Track which opened back in 1995 as a 60km walking track between the old Victorian gold mining towns of Castlemaine and Daylesford.The Goldfields Track was upgraded to make it a shared mountain bike and walking trail and it is now the longest such path in Victoria.The new world class Harcourt Mountain Bike Trails (La Larr Ba Gauwa Park) are a short 30 minute drive away and there are plenty of local trails and walking tracks for those that want to explore the local area.For the foodies there is an abundance of options and choices – there are many wineries, restaurants and cafes within a 20 minute drive. Only a 10 minute walk to the main street of Daylesford and a short drive to Hepburn Springs. It has everything you need for a relaxing or romantic break from city life.Gullyview Cottage cottage is a private dwelling and tucked away in its own garden space (not fenced) with private parking. Inside you'll find a cosy and intimate open plan lounge, dining and bedroom (studio) opening into the ensuite with a large corner spa. We have recently installed a huge smart TV (Bluetooth capability for your music) cuddle up in bed and enjoy your favourite shows on Netflix (please bring your own streaming account details) whilst enjoying the indoor fire.Light the fire while the double spa bath is filling, light the candles, dock your Ipod, dim the lights and just relax. Or, turn on the large wall mounted smart LCD TV which you can watch from the couch or the comfy bed! Please help yourself to our in-house selection of CD's, DVDs and magazines.Open the door out on to the extended deck and enjoy the sunset or the peace of the country (plus the occasional kangaroo) in the morning. Or fire up the BBQ and cook up a feast using produce from our local providers, farmers markets and specialty shops. We're very proud to say the Macedon Ranges and Hepburn Shire regions are a foodie's paradise! Please note we don’t provide any fresh food provisions.We have also recently installed a brand new induction stove (2 burner).Our cottage has a lovely wood fire burner, split system air-conditioning and heating, ceiling fan, corner 2 person spa in the bathroom, an ultra comfortable plush king size bed (which can be converted to twin share on request), HUGE smart LCD TV, DVD, Ipod Dock, CD Player/FM Radio, hairdryer and ironing facilities. Kitchen facilities include fridge (with freezer), electric stove, microwave, coffee pod machine, toaster, kettle and a full array of cooking utensils and crockery. There is no oven. A deck / patio with outdoor setting and electric BBQ overlooks a lane of lavender and beautiful views across Doctor’s Gully.Linen and towels (1 towel provided per guest) provided.The ultra plush king size bed can be converted into twin share (2 x long singles) on request however 7 days notice is required and an extra fee of $30 applies.Included in your stay - bed linen, bath towels (1 per person), coffee pods, tea and UHT milk, olive oil spray, sugar, salt and pepper are also provided. We don’t provide breakfast provisions. The local cafes are great and do a super breakfast- try ‘Cliffy’s’ for an amazing breakfast!Bathroom toiletries include shampoo, conditioner and body soap.We are small pet friendly and your pet is most welcome. We do charge a $50.00 pet fee for every pet that stays. The property is NOT fenced and pets can’t roam free but you can enjoy many long country walks. We do ask you to supply your own pet bedding and pet towels, and not allow your pet to sit on any furniture especially the bed. Please note that as this is a country area some property owners may use pesticides or pest control.The $50 pet fee is to be paid direct to our personal bank account before you arrive. Our fabulous cleaner has completed the COVID-19 Infection Control Course and we use hospital grade disinfectants when cleaning.Please note that only a small amount of firewood is provided which should be enough for the first nights evening fire. If you want to operate the fire all day and for multiple nights you may need to purchase your own wood which can be done at any of the petrol stations in Daylesford. The fire is a medium size firebox so please purchase wood cut in 1 foot pieces so it fits into the fireplace).Please also note that fire restrictions are generally in place from November until April which means that the fire place can not be used during this period.Guest accessGullyview Cottage is secluded but at the same time is very close to the town of Daylesford - its got the best of both worlds!Gullyview Cottage is located on a quiet and peaceful property overlooking Doctor's Gully. The road is very private and only consists of five properties. There is private, off street parking.The property is situated 900 metres from the main centre of Daylesford - this is a 1-2 minute drive. Or if you prefer to walk into town it's only 10 minutes to everything you need! It is also only a 5 minute drive to the famous Hepburn Springs Bathhouse & Spa.Daylesford is about a 1.5 hour drive (115 km) from Melbourne. There is also a train from Melbourne to Daylesford (V-line).The property is self check in. An email will be sent to you prior to your confirmed stay with detailed directions to our cottage, access codes and further instructions. Unlimited WIFI.The cottage has a huge smart TV so you can enjoy your Netflix, Prime and Stan. Please just log out afterwards.Please don’t visit immoral or pornography sites on our internet connection.Induction StoveWe have recently installed a brand new induction stove top (2 burner). Please use the special induction pans only. Note that the stove gets extremely hot! However it is not hot to the touch. Heat is conveyed to the special induction pan.• The controls respond to touch so you don’t need to apply any pressure.• Use the ball of your finger, not its tip.• You will hear a beep each time a touch is registered.• Make sure the controls are always clean, dry and that there are no objects (e.g. a utensil or a cloth) covering them. Even a thin layer of water may make the controls difficult to operate.Hot WaterPlease note that we have an environmentally friendly heat pump hot water unit. Please use hot water sparingly. If you use too much hot water and then try to fill the spa you may run out of hot water. Please just wait a little while and the hot water tank will refill.FirewoodWe supply enough fire wood for the average stay. Firewood is expensive and to keep our rates reasonable we can not supply wood for a constantly roaring fire.Should you wish to operate the fire constantly (all day or for multiple nights) you will need to provide your own wood.Should you require additional fire wood you can purchase in Daylesford at the petrol stations at your own cost.Deck chairThere is a lovely deck chair on the deck. Under the main king size bed you will find the long cushion for the deck chair. Please put the cushion back under the bed when you are finished with the cushion and before final departure.Security Camera- Please note we have an external security camera at the front of the cottage for security purposes.PetsWe are small pet friendly and welcome your little furry ones but please note there is a $50 pet fee per stay which is additional to the tariff and paid directly to the owners (not via Airbnb). Pets are not allowed on the bed or furniture so please ensure that you bring all pet beds and blankets. Any damage caused will be charged to the guests.
