Had a lovely dinner (fish and chips & burger) and pudding (sticky toffee pudding) enroute to the Peak District from London. A great stop off, highly recommend the short detour in the car. Emma our waiter was lovely. Have put on our saved places to visit again.

The Red Lion Manager and staff were very helpful and the pub was very clean. We held my Mums wake at the pub and all the staff were very accommodating at such a difficult time. The buffet was well presented and the food was good and was enjoyed by everyone. They catered for different dietary requirements. We made a few requests out of the ordinary and they were very happy to help with this. We were able to put photos of Mum on a screen and play a music playlist she would have loved.

A really welcoming inn, particularly as a person staying on their own. I was included in the Sunday night quiz and everyone was so friendly. Very comfortable bed as well - I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed in one of the Red Lion's bedrooms. Ours was clean and well-appointed and there was plenty of car-parking space adjacent to the pub. There was some noise from the pub but after speaking with the staff it was resolved and followed up with a sincere apology the following day. I've stayed in some B&Bs where the management doesn't really care but the Red Lion is different. They seem to take their guests' comfort and welfare seriously.
