金王山旅館(Gold King Mountain Inn)

I will never stay here again… from check in to check out the whole 2 nd floor smelled like *********. We were told no dogs allowed… we were woken up at 0245 by a dog barking for 3 hours.., no sleep there, plus one bed was hard as a rock, the other was soft as a marshmallow. The room was clean, that’s about all I can say positive about it, didn’t even have real blankets, just thin gray toppers. Gray walls, gray floors… felt like a motel 6. Both of our keys stopped working too. For $180/ night I expected a lot better. To make it worse, the next day we went to Chamanix and found out the rooms were high end luxury for $150/ night…. They even had thick bathrobes. Lesson learned. The Ice castle was fun though!

This was an amazing place. People were friendly, helpful and full of knowledge. Loved the views from the top the hill. Very reasonable pricing. Will definitely stay again. We came up to see the Ice castles mid week and it was not busy at all. Heard weekends are super busy.

My family had 10 rooms booked at the hotel and only 2 of the 10 were confirmed at check in. Customer service/management did nothing, even after providing contact information and committing to some type of compensation. We were traveling with young children and adults of all ages and had to drive 25 miles back through the mountains in hopes of finding other lodging. Overbooking is a business practice for this hotel. Beware.
