雅爾飯店(The Vale Hotel)

Disappointing hotel on a busy road we got no sleep due to traffic late at night and early in the morning. Amazingly they don’t serve breakfast at all. I really don’t understand why for the money they charge . You are to walk to the nearest cafe. We would never come back here again and would not recommend this place .

I work frm home and return to this hotel each time i am in the area. The rooms are lovely (in my opinion Rm4 is best for solo travellers). Mark, the owner, always greets you will a frienly smile, and even the locals make you feel welcome, taking their time to get to know you. There was usually a blond female traveller there who was alot of fun and chatted with all the locals, making them feel comfortable, and who would jump behind the bar and help out as it can get busy in there, but she has sadly left now. The rooms have everything you need. Tv, showers, coffee making facilities, hairdryers etc. Food is served in the restaurant and the steak is the best around (thankyou Lloydy). Of course, if you want to just go to your room and relax you can do that, and you are not disturbed by anything going on downstairs. My time working in the area has come to an end. But I will find the time to return with friends and/or family as it is beautiful in the Cotwolds, and my first choice of hotel will be The Vale. Thankyou Mark and Helen

Faulty Towers springs to mind - dirty bathroom, mushrooms growing at the edge of the carpet and a death trap of a moving spiral staircase for entry and exit. Poor communication- only thing going for it was the price. No parking - but that wasn’t too much of a problem.

We stayed at the hotel 1 night and ate at the restaurant. The room had everything you need and Mark looked after us like family. The food in the restaurant was divine. We can't wait to come back after the renovations!

Jumbo restaurant was amazing along with the landlord and meeting the chef the entire evening was amazing all 4 of us left very happy and full. Would 100% recommend this place it's magical lovely ambience and locals enjoy a bit of banter all round a smashing place

We were out for a family meal and were thrilled the restaurant was brilliant, the food was amazing,the staff were wonderful and the ambiance is fantastic. We could not have asked for a better night out, we will definitely be back as there is much more we have yet to sample.

I stayed at this hotel while walking along the Thames Path to the source, it is a very friendly place, and the staff accommodated me brilliantly, allowing me to put all my wet clothes on their water tank - I had been walking barefoot in the river Thames due to flooding! After having a shower, a cup of tea and a well deserved rest, I went downstairs in my bare feet for dinner, and enjoyed one of the best steaks I have ever had. Unfortunately, they don't do breakfast, so I had to go and find somewhere else to have it, but I knew that when I booked it. I will definitely return there if I am ever back in the area.

Very handy considering I had last minute trip to Swindon and didn't fancy the drive back to Birmingham at that time of night. Food was excellent and came quickly. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overwhelming smell of paint didn't make for a great night's sleep but that would just be my luck that night. Overall I'd recommend this place though

This hotel is a gem of a place. I have stayed there a few times, I am so welcomed by the owner Mark and his staff. Its a great place to stay and the location is superb. Rooms are very comfortable. Its a few miles from the south cerney lakes ( 5 mins down the road where you can enjoy all water sports ).The Thames path is a few minutes walk away. Definitely a place for walkers and water lovers. The hotel has 2 restaurants Jicsaw ( Thai food ) and Jumbo ( mix of Kenyan/ fusion) Both worth a visit with lovely menus. I would recommend this hotel for hospitality and location.
