This was just a night away but we could not have been more impressed by the service here. Checkin is a 5pm so we spent the day exploring the area, and parked in the free car park just around the corner. Our room was large and airy with stacks of storage space and we both loved the shower. It was surprisingly quiet too despite the hotel being on the high street. The bar featured an amazing range of gins and Mark took us behind the bar to smell some of the options. As a result I chose a fruit gin I would not have selected otherwise which we enjoyed on the roof top terrace as the sun went down, while we studied the food menu with a lot of imaginative options (which made choosing a pleasant challenge). My wife had a goat curry while I had the slow cooked pork belly with root vegetables with African style mash. Both were delicious washed down with a lovely bottle of sauvignon blanc! We shared an equally lovely desert of Date and almond filo rools in an orange sauce. Service was 6 stars all the way from Mark and the team which made the whole experience memorable. Although the hotel doesn't offer breakfast there are plenty of places in the High Street just yards away so not a problem. Not difficult to see why they were a Four in a Bed Winner and I can certainly highly recommend staying and eating here and we would certainly do it again! Oh, a very reasonable prices too. What's not to like!!

The hotel was just perfect. The landlord mark was very welcoming. The room was extremely comfortable, quiet, clean and had all the necessary facilities. The food especially the curry and chapati I highly recommend. Also being on my own the locals were friendly which with all of the above made my stay very relaxed thank you

Fabulous staff, everyone was so friendly. They don’t do breakfast but that wasn’t a problem, we just went to a cafe near by. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Great shower. The food was exceptional! Make sure you have an evening meal.

Stayed here for two nights. The room was excellent and exceeded expectations for the price. The food in the restaurant was amazing! All staff were very friendly as were the local customers. Will definitely stay again on our next visit to Cricklade.

As a business we need accommodation of a high standard for our electricians working away and The Vale meets every expectation. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff friendly and the food is very good. Mark is very welcoming and even gives some of my guys a "favourite" room to return to. Cannot fault them which is why we have been returning for over a year now.

we had a lovely stay in this hotel, had a very warm and welcoming host, would definitely stay again, had very comfortable beds and was very clean. my children stayed in another room to us, still felt like they was very secure and safe throughout the night.
