盧伊布飯店

Una casa del 1700, con i limiti dati dall'età, ma con un'atmosfera unica, a partire dal grande camino della sala ristorante. Camera piccola ma con un letto molto comodo, un bagno essenziale ma nuovo, il tutto molto pulito. Data la stagione non ancora turistica eravamo gli unici ospiti stranieri ed è stato bello poter scambiare due chiacchiere con Sue e John, sviluppando l'idea di ritornare a giugno per ascoltare le cornamuse e prendere parte al Cèilidh sul terreno circostante. Last but not least: il miglior fish and chips gustato nei nostri viaggi, John è pescatore per passione e sa come trattare il pesce e per di più ha fatto il cuoco per tutta la vita...la tipica colazione scozzese è stata all'altezza, con uno haggis di alta qualità.

Beautiful location and nice people. Owners said 10 pm was quite time but stayed up until 11:30 talking very loudly which kept us awake. Don’t eat there; small menu with mediocre food. Eat in Killin. The room had a cracked window with peeling paint. The inn needs a fair amount of up keep. Not worth the money.

Zeer oud gebouw en een beetje vergane glorie.de zoon heeft het overgenomen en het ontbijt is nu een wat sobere continental. Het hele pand zou wel opgefrist moeten worden. Avondeten was goed maar eigenlijk was er geen dessert.Om 21.00 uur kun je geen maaltijd meer krijgen.De eigenaren waren wel vriendelijk.Killin is een mooi plaatsje met de Dochart falls en leuke restaurantjes. Mooi wandel en bergbeklim gebied.

The countryside around the property was beautiful. The hotel was right on the roadside, so you could hear the cars driving by. Since there was no were else to eat close by, it was practical to be able to eat there, but the fare was simple with no fresh options, such as salads. Some of the mattresses sank in the middle and the coils could be felt. I tried to sleep on a pillow for this reason. The bathroom window was moldy and the moldy smell carried over into the room. Everything was well meant, but really needs updating and renovations. If you can afford to stay somewhere else, do that.

The hotel had an attached lot for convenient parking and a restaurant on site. We had a delicious meal for dinner during our one night stay. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom could’ve been a bit cleaner.

This is Fawlty Towers without the charm of Basil Fawlty! Let’s get the plusses out of the way first - the hotel had vacancies and the room rate was under £100. Now the negatives: Decorations tired Thin walls Surly owner grunts at breakfast if you ask for anything other than a full Scottish! Refused to poach an egg and required 24 hours notice to provide a boiled one. This guy purports to have worked in the finest fish restaurants in the world - perhaps none of them served eggs! No cereal No juice Dirty cutlery There were 4 beers in the bar and on no night were they all available. They can’t be bothered to change the barrel, they just ask the customer to compromise accordingly. Staff bad mouthed local pubs but we found they served far superior food. Do yourselves a favour and avoid this one. If you want the laughs without the grief just watch Fawlty Towers on catch-up!
