Perfect venue for family event I had an important event at Cranfield Management Development Centre. Staff were amazing, the food was a specially designed Italian menu by their chef catering for all food tastes including vegans & gluten free- so many compliments received for quality & variety.

We weren’t really sure what to expect when booking this hotel but was pleasantly surprised. We came down for the football at MkDons, but couldn’t get a hotel near the ground so chose here and are glad we did!! The conference centre, bar and coffee lounge were very modern and welcoming. The rooms were as said before a little dormy but the bed was comfy (we slept fantastically!) the shower was good and the tea/coffee facilities were just needed. Air con was a bit loud but then again it kept the room cool!! Fantastic staff who couldn’t do enough for us, especially the young lady that was on reception on the Friday and Saturday evenings, nothing was too much for her! We even got the bus down from the university to theatre district and then to the game, much cheaper than a taxi!!

The Development Centre accommodation suites are somewhere between 3 and 4-star in terms of what they offer. The university is a long way from anywhere else in terms of towns and is situated in the Bedfordshire countryside, reasonably close to the M1. Cranfield village is not much to look at and it's a case of having to bring your own entertainment. Having said that, there is a gym and a small indoor swimming pool, free parking, quite good places to go walking just a ten minute drive away and plenty of places to 'network' if you are in a group, with large garden patios to sit out in, and a good-sized lounge and bar. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is an early check-in of 2:00pm. The rooms themselves are a little dated and surprisingly there are no USB points but the wi-fi is good. Our only complaints were the noisy air-conditioning units- effective, but more like industrial installations and the noise from the corridors. The rooms are designed like student rooms rather than hotel rooms and noise insulation is poor. Expect excitable and slightly tipsy conference attendees late evening/early morning and very early start delegates (who hadn't been socialising the night before) at ridiculously early times when most people wouldn't yet be up. The problem is not the guests, but the design and layout of the accommodation. Most of the academic and engineering types staying there are actually polite and considerate. It makes a great change from a regular mid-range hotel- lots of public space- and the pool and other facilities to use free of charge.

Stayed here as part of a course which worked well for convenience. The room was ok, but the dreadful room lighting was a real pain. Bed was ultra soft, which made it quite physically difficult to sleep in when there are 2 of you. Food was fine with a good selection at breakfast. Please improve the lighting!!

I am a regular in the area for business, but I usually stay in MK or Woburn. But now will add the CMDC to my regular list. Good honest room for an overnighter, plenty of safe car parking. Great breakfast!

Rooms are comfortable, well appointed and reasonable price. If that’s all you want great. Restaurant charge £19.50 for buffet style meal so had beef stroganoff. For such a basic meal very expensive. No where local to go, so you are stuck or have to drive for food. Then watching film or channels provided and signal cut out, never to come back. I know place is geared toward Cranfield University, but outside of hotel room experience was pretty poor.

Located on the Cranfield University campus, this is an excellent, well planned, cleaned facility. I was impressed by the attention to detail. Pleasant room, with everything you could want: TV, Tea & Coffee facilities; Good WiFi, Comfortable bed, Hot & powerful shower, Luggage rack, Hairdryer, Iron & ironing boad, even a box of tissues.

A university with a hotel. Very convenient. The rooms are basic. Not spartan but more like an upscale dorm room. Very clean and very quiet . Beds comfy , shower good. Staff very friendly. If you have business or an event on campus this is definitely the place to stay.

Charges regular hotel prices with substandard facilities and services which it can get away with as most people stay there for Cranfield campus. Lots of things they could get right - Can't do much about room size but no reason to be poorly lit - Not been to any other 4* hotels with no fridge in room - Beds are way too soft - Breakfast is overpriced and very average - They have a captive market for food and take advantage by charging very high price for low quality in restaurant. Bar food is a little more reasonable The staff are always pleasant to deal with in my experience though
