城堡樹林鄉間飯店

Voilà une expérience des plus insolites dans un château, qui n'y ressemble pas de l'extérieur, car plutôt de type maison Géorgienne, mais qui a tout le cachet de l'ancien à l'intérieur et une histoire familiale riche en émotion. Le contraste de la décoration intérieure de l'époque avec une touche de modernité se marient bien. Le tout dans un confort et une quiétude qui nous font oublier les turbulences de notre époque. Mais que serait cet établissement sans la gentillesse, la disponibilité et la chaleur de leurs hôtes et de leur personnel. Sans parler des moments passer lover dans des fauteuils d'époque auprès de la cheminée crépitante. Bref pour profiter et s'imprégner de cette expérience et de ces ambiances, dans la mesure du possible prévoir de passer plus d'une nuit, plus d'1 petit déjeuner et plus d'1 dîner. Car nous avons été aussi ravis du palais.

Das gepflegte Haus liegt ruhig und romantisch, Personal freundlich und hilsbereit. Unser Zimmer geräumig, gute Betten, sauber, schöner Blick über den Garten. Abendessen und Frühstück am ersten Tag im romantischen Speisesalal erstklassig . Am zweiten Tag wegen einer privaten Geburtstagsfeier Essen in einem engen Nebenraum ohne Aussicht mit einem wackligen Tisch. Küche tadellos. Die Feier unter unserem Zimmer im offenbar isolierten Speisesaal und Salon störte nicht, bis kurz nach Mitternacht ein guinessseliger Tenor begann, patriotische Lieder zu singen. Damit es schöner klang, stellte er sich dazu in das historische Treppenhaus. Schlaf vorbei, nach 20 Minuten habe ich den Maitre d aufgesucht, der versprach, um ein Uhr sei Schluss. Um 1 Uhr 10 war Schluss, dann begann der Abschied unter unserem Fenster, 25 Leute fuhren ihre Autos auf dem Kies vor und waren kurz vor zwei weg. Weg waren wir am nächsten Morgen völlig unausgeschlafen. Viel Lärm um viel Geld.

The overall experience we had with our two night stay was delightful. You forget the idiosyncrasies which accompanied the room we had because the staff, owners of the hotel and other guests made our stay here truly unforgettable in a very good way. The food is out of this world, indeed they have many awards to prove this and they are well deserved. You feel at home in the many elegantly furnished rooms, you can sink into the many deep soft armchairs or enjoy a glass or two of wine on the patio whilst watching the sun go down and the cats playing or sunbathing. Or you can stroll down to the beach via the extensive gardens it is a true gem of a place.

You will travel a long way to see can you find a better location with such friendly staff who were so attentive to all our requests and needs. The food is excellent and fairly priced for what you get. to sit in the drawing room having pre dinner drinks and discussing the menu just makes it all so comfortable and relaxing, nothing is rushed. We ordered from the drawing room and when food was ready the waiter came took our drinks and got us seated on one of the lovely big tables with spotless white linen table coverings. The food arrived quickly and everything we had over our two nights here was just delicious and there was nothing we could complain about, it was perfect. There was always a staff member close by should we need anything and you could tell they loved working there as they spoke so proudly about everything and they went out of their way to make sure we loved it as much as them. After dinner we retired back to one of the drawing rooms to finish our drinks and just relax and savour the peacefulness and atmosphere. Our room was particularly big with 4 poster bed and lots of antique furniture in it giving a real old world feel to it but it was so comfortable you felt so relaxed and sorry you didn't book it for longer. There was a very comfortable sitting room off it also with a TV that never got turned on as reading, relaxing switching off were the only things one needed to do. The bathroom was gorgeous too, big stand alone bath and separate large shower with lovely towels and toiletries provided. Next morning breakfast was so relaxed and choices were excellent too. I don't know which was the stand out feature but when you get great location, friendly efficient staff along with amazing food you just know you will be returning on more than one occasion.

This is an old fashioned, but very comfortable, family run hotel set in large garden and within 5 minutes walk to the sea lock shore ( the shore is nice to see, but there is no real path for walking along the shore). It is set well away from any roads and as such is very quiet. It also has a large car park. The hotel has only 15 bedrooms. Ours was large, 20ftx20ft furnished with very comfortable bed, two arm chairs and a table. All of the furniture in the room was in keeping with the age and style of the building, large wardrobe, but not built in. The hotel has two guest lounges (log fires on cold evenings) and a television room. Considering the number of guests, the dining room is very large with good sized tables and lots of room between each one. If you like the modern, cafe style of eating, with lots of noise, then this is NOT for you. The food is excellent (some of the vegetables and fruit from their own kitchen garden) and the ambiance very relaxed. The staff are superb and the whole thing has an air of relaxed, friendly attentiveness and efficiency. The food is priced around 25% more than local restaurants (where we found the quality sometimes questionable), but the table is yours for the evening so there is no rush to get you out and nothing appears to be too much trouble for the staff. After the meal one has the choice of retiring back to the lounge if desired. Overall we had a superb stay.

Castle Grove House is a truly special place. Beautiful country setting, so peaceful. The house is old world charm at it's best. The staff are very welcoming, always available, but never intrusive. The food here was fabulous. Thank you to Caroline and all the team each and everyone of you made our stay a wonderful experience.
