淡海飯店(Corto del Mar Hotel)

location is perfect just few block for a market and walking distance to the marina we're the boats for excursion is dock and load. The hotel accomodations is just basic small bed low and very thin mattress, pillow and blanket is excellent soft, water supply is abundant although electricity us intermitent on and off, our aircondition unit has been affected that doesn't giving cold air glad it was just out last night. pool is beautiful and cleaned , food for breakfast is superb better and giid quality selection. the staff are very polite and respectful, very helpful and get job done as much as possible, they pack a sandwich breakfast for us as we have early trip to El Nido that was very nice if rhem. The water supply is not drinkable so they provide bottled water and you can ask for a refill. They will give you a welcome drink of a fruit drink. This is really a good location, my only dislike is the bed, as it's very small when they say twin bed it is a twin bed, other than that it's ok. Yes its more pricey compare to the sorrounding hotel but the food and pool are the best.

We were a bit dubious upon arrival as the hotel is located down a dark unmarked laneway but were then pleasantly surprised by the welcoming ambience of the entrance which encompasses reception, the restaurant and outlook onto the large pool. Our room on the top floor was large with a balcony both front and back and overlooked the residential squalor below and harbour. It seems every family has a rooster and they crow mostly 24 hours per day. Stray dogs are everywhere and they bark throughout the night (this would be common regardless of where you stay in Coron Town). Fortunately the buzzing of our ceiling fan helped to soften some of the noise. I loved the bathroom with its large shower (but often tripped on the stepdown in/out of the bathroom (this needs to be highlighted with a red or fluoro safety *****). The room's aircon worked great. Breakfast offered a number of choices but we both became ill after one morning. We can't pinpoint what it would have been but days later we're still suffering. The pool is fabulous but the old timber lounges need urgent replacement. They are unsightly, uncomfortable, heavy to move, padding is filthy and they can't be adjusted. The grass and garden could also do with attention. Overall, a lovely place to stay and staff were friendly and helpful. If the pool area had been more comfortable I would have rated 5/5.

Belle hôtel personnel très agréable et sympathique restaurant très bien, petit déjeuner et parfait mais beaucoup de bruit le soir la nuit et le matin les chiens les coqs les enfants etc …. Les transats utopie de la piscine sont archaïques. Par contre l’hôtel est bien placé. Les chambres la literie très bonne.

Beautiful place to stay! Check in was very smooth and we were greeted with a welcome drink and cold towels. They upgraded our room to the family room from the superior room we originally booked. Breakfast was convenient and the choices varied with each day. The room itself was clean, spacious and has everything you need. Loved the Spanish style architecture. The only thing to note is there’s noise throughout the day because it’s in the middle of town proper - so you’ll hear ppl, tricycles, dogs, roosters, etc. that’s just the nature of the location.

This is an elegant, up-market option near the centre and port of Coron. The common areas of the hotel are attractive and the bedrooms are large and immaculate. The in-house restaurant offers an excellent cooked breakfast and good evening meals. Do not hesitate to stay here if you don't mind spending around Euro 100 a night.

Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits au Corto del Mar. L'hôtel fait penser à une hacienda ! Les chambres sont spacieuses (hauteur sous plafond impressionnante !), le mobilier massif. Chambre et salle de bain propres. Détail très pratique : chaque chambre est équipée en extérieur face à sa porte d'entrée d'un portant qui permet de sécher les affaires après les excursions en mer, c'est très appréciable. Nous avons testé le restaurant de l'hôtel un soir, très bon et copieux, le service est attentionné. Petit déjeuner buffet, les pancakes sont faits à la demande. Choix simple mais il y a ce qu'il faut. L'hôtel n'est pas très loin du port (accessible en tuk tuk) pour le départ vers les excursions. Hôtel au calme (peu de bruit de voitures, par contre chiens et coqs se font entendre une partie de la nuit !). Bon hôtel à Coron .

We had 3 nights at the Corto del Mar situated in the heart of the main town and only a few minutes from the ferry and 30 mins to the airport. As many have already reported there are benefits of being the best hotel in town next to the locals, the shops and the restaurants but this is offset by the disadvantages of being the best hotel in town, next the locals, the shops and the restaurants. The rooms are decent and large, the food was ok and most of the staff seemed keen to help. There is a fabulous pool but the furniture and grounds need work and why don’t the bar staff be a bit more active in selling their product ? The hotel has a relationship with a couple of local boats that operate the day trips, ours was a disaster but hopefully they have improved by the time you arrive. Or pick one of the 100 others on offer outside the hotel and at a lower price. Enjoy……
