We booked a number of rooms as a motorbike tour group. They were all clean, upgraded and quiet. The check in with Yanyie was most welcoming and efficient. Complementary milk, water and soft drinks were a bonus. A short walk to local restaurants and pubs. We will return next year.

A wonderfully clean, comfortable and well thought out motel room - we had number 14 (larger than others). Quiet off-street parking outside our door. Marvellous elevated area in centre courtyard with lounges and bbq overlooking the hills - perfect for our late afternoon wine and nibbles. Their restaurant only open certain nights we stayed on a Tuesday. Very central for food, good coffee and provisions (Coles) just a walk down the street - also pub did nice usual pub dinner with bonus of a small group playing traditional Irish music - great stuff! When visiting must see Cooma Car Club and Snowy Hydro visitors centre - fascinating.

I was responsible for organising a get-together of touring motorcyclists from SA, Vic, NSW, Qld and the ACT where I live. Riding the sinewy roads of the Snowy Mountains was our objective, Cooma was our base. I did a recce of several motels in Cooma and chose the Altair because it met numerous of our requirements: comfortable rooms, very good off street parking for our bikes, away from prying eyes; located within a short walking distance to places to eat & drink, good coffee and supermarkets; an excellent centrally located, raised, covered veranda for socialising when we weren't riding; a very welcome group discount on our room rates. Friendly staff, from the front office to the team of cleaners. All in all, a great experience.

Very friendly and attentive. Comfortable room and bed This is where I'll be staying when overnighting in Cooma The rooms have had a recent refreshing and whist there was a couple of minor issues (I'm a bit pedantic), they were taken on board and shall likely be remedied promptly.
