I had an absolutely awful experience staying at Bella Mare Coolangatta. The couch in the apartment had been urinated on, and the entire place reeked of an unbearable stench. It was clear that no proper cleaning had been done before my stay. To make matters worse, I tried calling and emailing management multiple times, and they completely ignored me—no response, no accountability. This level of negligence is absolutely unacceptable. If you’re considering staying here, think twice. There are plenty of other places in Coolangatta that actually care about cleanliness and customer service. Bella Mare is a disgrace.

The holiday apartment appeared appealing on the website, but our experience upon arrival was disappointing (apartment 44). The room was not properly cleaned, with mud spots on the floor that I managed to clean with a wet paper towel. The kitchen bench and dining room table had crumbs and spilt juice, indicating they hadn't been cleaned. The chairs were filthy and clearly needed a thorough cleaning. There were stains on the wall from a leaky AC, and the flyscreen was off the main verandah, resting near the outside AC unit. The verandah itself looked like it hadn't been mopped in over six months. Additionally, the ceiling fan had exposed wires, which was concerning. We emailed the site about these issues on our first night but never received any response or acknowledgment. The saving grace was the fantastic location, just a short walk to the heart of Coolangatta, Point Danger, and Tweed. Thankfully, it was also relatively quiet during our stay.
