"Stayed here 2 nights in Jan 2026. Small, but beautiful hotel with classy decor and mirrors. The hotel is located off an unassuming side street about a 3 min walk from the center of town. Spacious, clean room. Beds were large and comfortable enough. Crisp clean sheets, variety of pillows. Bathroom was nice. Excellent A/C and Wi-Fi. Small window facing the street. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast - though off-site. We paid $10 each to have our laundry washed, dried, and folded on site. It was more than we would've paid if we'd walked to a launderia, but we had just returned from the waterfall hike with wet, stinky clothes, and the local laundromats were already closed. A bit more expensive here, but the quality and room space supercede the motels and inns of this touristy area. Parking is on the street. Plenty near the hotel. CONS: Small things, really. The bathroom did not have any ventilation. Breakfast was at a restaurant about a 6 min walk away. Not a big deal, but if you're in a hurry, you might want to skip it. They summoned someone from the restaurant to meet me in the lobby and then walk me to the restaurant, which was awkward when I could've just Google mapped it. Our deluxe double room was between the door to the street and the reception counter, and was accessed by a large sliding glass door that ran along the lobby sitting area. It was a little uncomfortable because we had to keep the curtains closed or be on display for everyone who entered or exited the hotel. We were hardly ever in the room during the day, so it wasn't a big deal, but we were a little self-conscious about talking loud, making noise, or playing music. The second day, the receptionist did offer a room upstairs, but by then, we were over it. All other rooms are situated upstairs, and there's no elevator. If you want a quiet, comfortable stay in a more elegant atmosphere, this is it."

"I don’t understand how anyone could give this place a 5-star rating. It isn’t terrible but certainly not worthy of more than 3 stars. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the central square and the garden is pretty but that counts for just so much. My room was cramped, dark and cold containing nothing beyond a big bed, 3 old coat hangers on a rail and an invalid shower chair. Yes folks, while there was no ordinary chair there was one of those things with holes in the seat that is used for showering people who can’t stand properly to wash themselves. What is that about? The wifi in my room was very bad. When it functioned, which was less than 50% of the time during my 2-night stay, it was slow enough to be reminiscent of the old dial up days. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was functional with good water pressure and ample hot water but, the mattress was covered in plastic that crackled whenever I turned over and the bathroom had no window so everything gets fairly steamed up. The much praised terrace is okay but the weather during my stay was misty and cool with the furniture all swathed in plastic so it was less of an asset than it would be during sunny days. Breakfast was included but my omelet incurred an additional 55 cent charge and although a perfectly nice omelet was not the one that I had ordered and came with bread even though I had agreed to tortillas as an alternative. Small complaints but it all adds up to less than 5 -tar facilities and service."

"It was a very clean and peaceful place. The owners helped us with everything. We asked if they knew where we could get a coconut and they just arranged it for us. Also the breakfast was nice and fresh. The room was very spacious and one of the most cleanest places we have stayed. It’s just a few minutes away from Ataco. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are doing the ruta de las flores!"
