"You get what you pay for! Went with a large group of elderly people. All the staff were exceptionally welcoming and really tried to make our stay a happy one. The lift was efficient and linen clean and room serviced daily. Absolutely nothing wrong with the simple breakfast provided. Wifi on the third floor was so weak as to be useless but reception on ground floor good. Goodness knows when the hotel was last decorated. Very tired, peeling wallpaper and shabby rooms. No air con and in temperatures hitting 32C and combination of being on a main road and a noisy bar nearby with heavy metal band in full flow on one night, it was impossible to sleep. No proper shower, just a bath tub with hose attached, difficult to use. Cold tap on basin was seized and unusable, despite attempts to free by management. Strangely, the TV was positioned a few inches below the high ceiling. On the pluses, within walking distance of town and beside a superb restaurant, Le Bistrot de Flandre. At the hotel there is nowhere to socialise, no bar or lounge."
