Authentique et chaleureux Lieu surprenant avec un paysage buccolique je recommande les personnes sont serviable a l écoute le repas est 4* La chambre donne sur unep étiez terrasses très sympa malheureusement et.ce n'est pas la faute des proprietaires ...les odeurs de la cuisine refoulent dans la chambre ...il y a elgament des guêpes attirees par l odeur de la nourriture sans doute . Dommage parce que le lieu est formidable et l accueil excellent . Je donne une notre de 8,5/10 tout de même pour ce lieu atypique authentique et chaleureux loin de tout ou presque ..puisque je pensais naïvement être a deux pas de bristol que j ai visite le lendemain et bien non c était au bout du monde et pourtant a 1/2 h de la grande ville ...

We had an absolutely lovely stay here, Paul and his staff were exceptional. Great food and lovely rooms. We'd love to come back as it was worth the trip.

Fabulous alternative to boring city hotel I have stayed at the Hunters Rest for 2 nights a fortnight for over a year. The staff are really friendly. My room (contemporary four-poster) was lovely - way cheaper than an average room in a city centre hotel. The food is delicious pub food. It’s in a beautiful location away from the crowds but with a local clientele. Really can’t say anything negative.

On Friday, 23rd May, a group of six ladies – including my daughter – stopped at The Hunters Rest for a drink during an early evening horse ride. It was a lovely summer evening, and as on previous occasions, they stopped at the far end of the car park, well out of the way of other patrons. Many people outside, especially families with children, seemed to really enjoy seeing the horses. However, when one of the group went inside to order another drink, she was refused service and told that the horses had to leave. When she politely asked why – since they were not causing any disruption – she was told it was because one of the horses had defecated. This had already been noted by the group, who fully intended to return shortly after to clean it up, as they stable their horses nearby and always act responsibly. What followed was extremely disappointing and frankly unacceptable. The chef came out of the pub, still in his kitchen whites, got in his car, and followed the group down the road, shouting at them in a verbally aggressive manner. My daughter, who is young, found this intimidating and upsetting. Regardless of age, this kind of behaviour from a staff member is completely inappropriate and unprofessional.

Spent 2 nights here with spectacular views. Had a wonderful relaxing stay, comfortable room, great food and local people. Special thanks to friendly helpful staff Sally Graham and Mark.

Can't praise this place highly enough. We booked last minute and were arriving after dinner but the staff could not do enough for us. I was visiting the Sulis hospital for a procedure and was on a restricted diet but it was no problem at all for the chef to make me some poached eggs on toast for dinner,my husband said his food was delicious. Room was lovely,everything clean. Stayed for two nights and wished I wasn't having a hospital visit BUT we will be back for a more relaxing holiday soon. Thank you to all the staff.
