Sun/ Mon relaxing bank holiday break ..room lovely /clean and comfy..Friendly/helpful man on reception on arrival , easy check in . Negatives: woken up at 7.30am on a bank holiday Monday with gardeners blowing leaves.. Did bring this to managers attention who said he will take this up with gardening team .Prompt reply on email.. Booked /paid for the Destination spa extra but outdoor pool was shut as apparently if the temperature goes below 15 degree they don’t open it , Shame really as it’s heated and other pools we have been to have been open so on your break it’s luck with what the temperature is if you get to use it ..out door showers broken by large jacuzzi .0/10 Hotel pool area.. free to use but small, dark,busy ..6/10 Positives: Friendly staff.10/10 Grounds to hotel are lovely ..10/10 Coffee/ tea in rooms .. 10/10 We had a room in the separate annex so nice and quiet ( if no gardeners around ) so giving a score of the room not experience 9/10.. free toiletries , lovely clean soft white towels .. Food excellent , evening meal well presented and plentiful Buffett breakfast 10/10 Couples stay ..

My friend and I visited Ardencote for a spa break. The destination spa was great, and we really enjoyed that - I’d give that five stars apart from that the hot tub jets weren’t working. The rest of the hotel was a bit disappointing though. I appreciate that the spa lunch was supposed to be a light lunch, however we needed to order extra chips to make sure we had enough to eat (neither of us are massive eaters). The rooms are fine, nice view from ours, and the beds were comfortable but the pillows mediocre and one of the bedspreads was frayed. The regular spa area needed some attention, with boards missing from the sauna and an unsettling noise while we were in the steam room. The food at dinner was average, with friendly but slightly slap dash service. Deserts seemed bought in, with not a lot of substance to them. Breakfast was disappointingly below average. Juices were warm and not replenished, and the same for the yogurts. Both juice and yogurts tasted very cheap. I wasn’t offered tea until after I’d eaten, and it was grey. The cooked breakfast was particularly disappointing. Bacon was greasy and overcooked. Scrambled eggs were runny and separated. Fried eggs were crusty on top. Pastries were sad looking. The large dining room was very dated. It was often difficult to know who staff were as the uniform is back top and trousers, and I didn’t want to hassle another guest by mistake! The ability to charge things to your room (like drinks at e spa bar) would be really helpful.

Pretty poor and no way a four star hotel. You want to leave a hotel feeling like you have been well looked after and had a great relaxing time ...sorry not the case Cleanliness not as it should be, don't look above head height in places including my room unless you like cobwebs, you can't have a short swim outside unless you pay £35 extra, I've had much better breakfast quality and choice at a budget hotel...tea and awful weak coffee already made up in thermosflasks, poured by staff , cheap brown and white sliced bread for toast, no choice, buffet items generally cold, read that in other reviews but obviously not rectified, one bowl of fresh melon , no other fruit at all , no nuts or seeds , cheap yoghurt. The best was, I asked to take some fresh milk to my room from the bar to avoid those awful long life sachets to be told I might be charged for it. !! Yet you can't charge anything to your room anyway . All has to be paid for at the time. Had a superior room . Really !! No water , biscuits , robes , limited toiletries , just below average by far. ..and finally when leaving , was asked how my stay was, I shook my head and said it was just ok at best and I've had much better elsewhere, never asked why . Sums it up . U get what U get there and they don't really care . Won't be back
