Great place for a pre-cruise stop. Very characterful rooms, We arrived early and although we could not check in we were able to leave our bags, perfectly adequate room, didn’t experience any noise issues and breakfast is in Bar Gigi next door but we had coffee, juice, water, croissants and pastries. On check out they kindly let us leave our luggage until we were ready to board the cruise. From the reviews Alibrandi Palace is very Marmite, but I like marmite.

September 23rd 2022. This place is an extreme disappointment! We visited in 2018 with our son and loved it. This time it was HORRIBLE and quite BIZARRE! We came off a cruise ship @ 9:30 am ( I know check in stated 2:00 pm however, we had no place to go but straight to our hotel/AirB&B?) So we went to the Alibrandi, rang the bell and there was NO ONE! It was at breakfast time ( I know it was early but we just got off a ship) With the breakfast that was provided the prior time (IT WAS QUITE GOOD) I had expected someone to be there for guests serving breakfast! We waited in front of the Alibrandi and were lucky enough to catch the house keeper around 10:00 am he allowed us to bring our 6 bags of luggage in off the street. He phoned the owner, allowed us sit in a lobby type area. It was an hour and a half and a few more calls from the house keeper before a young man showed up. (looking like he just crawled out of bed and quite pissed) He was quite rude and clearly did NOT want to be there. He threw three cards at us. One with the wi fi code, one with the door code, and one with his info in case we needed something. I put the wi fi in asap went out of the room to ask him about a number/ letter he wrote down and he was gone. Never to be seen again. My husband and I didn't see one guest the two nights we were there. We were pretty sure we were the only two there. The breakfast was a card to take down to the Gigi cafe under the Alibrandi and they gave us one croissant and 1 cup of coffee...That does not constitute any sort of breakfast! It is a very dark and sad establishment. All the lights were off except our room and the hall light was on a timer. The rugs need shampooed. I wore slippers because of the grime under my feet after stepping on the rugs. I went to open this HUGE window and it almost fell completely out of the frame. DO NOT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!

2nd time staying at this great property. It’s old has so much character in all the rooms and the public area. While the staff are not present they are Accessible, and they explain all you need to know on check in. They are accommodating to leave luggage while waiting to board a cruise

One of the reasons we chose Alibrandi was it advertised as a HOTEL. We thought: reception & assistance, so we would pay the extra money. PARKING was also advertised. No PARKING on pedestrian area! The hotel had seen better days... The room was large. Curtains were tired... So were the towels , sheets & duvet (smelly too). Shower drain was clogged with previous guest's hair. Inexperienced staff tried to help.
