This was one of the worst experiences I've had at a Marriott property. I am a Gold Elite Member and currently work for a Marriott hotel and was shocked and appalled on how things were done here. I requested an early check in at noon on the app, but I arrived around 2:30. When I mentioned that I was there to check in, the front desk said ”you know check in isn't until 3pm right?” When I told I requested a noon check in time, she proceeded to check me in, she didn't mention to me that she gave me an upgrade which would have great but I did requested a room on the 2nd floor and I was assigned rm 211. I notice she also didn't ask for my ID, form of payment and my Marriott Friends & Family paperwork. When I was in the room getting ready, a family of mine busted in our room with her keys! I went downstairs and told them that they assigned 2 different people in the same room. They remade my keys and I went back into rm 211. About 15 minutes later, I decided to ask a different front desk clerk to confirm that I was checked in rm 211, they confirm NO ONE was check in this room! I came to Lima with my mother who is disabled and it was obvious I wasn't checked in the system, which meant we were vulnerable and anything could have happened. Two front desk clerks fix the situation where as the other front desk clerk that check me in (her name was Tiffany) didn't help and left stating ”I hope your situation gets better.” I also notice all the front desk clerks was shouting room numbers out loud which is a BIG NO NO in hospitality. I was late for my function that I drove an hour and 30 mins to attend so I requested a refund. So much more happened but It's obvious the front desk aren't properly trained which could have caused a serious issue. I am still waiting for my refund that I requested as well from the hotel. I wouldn't stay here again.
I’ve bad experiences with Holiday Inn properties in the past; with hesitation I booked this property for business. The room given to me was manageable until I looked closer. Once I took pictures of what appeared to be some type of bodily fluid on the night stand; I was even more disgusted when I lifted the toilet seat. This was unmistakably blood from…..let’s just say a feminine hygiene product. I couldn’t do it, went to the front desk and explained what is going on. Apparently his only course of action was to move me to another room. This room wasn’t much better, thankfully I didn’t notice any bodily fluids. I was on the fence about grabbing my suitcase and not staying here. I feel at this point this is exactly what I should’ve done. I will be sleeping on top of the covers in my clothes. I hope the shower has enough water pressure to make it out of the shower head. The water from the sinks are able to flow partially is I feel gravity is assisting. I guess I should not be this shocked, some things never change.
