The property has potential however overall I did not have a successful stay. Upon check in I was advised that the room had a shared bathroom. The owner advised that he had a room with a private bathroom but this was more expensive. He advised me to cancel the original reservation and re-book the en-suite room and he would authorise a refund via ********** for the full cost of the original booking. I did this with great difficulty, as to why this could not have been sorted locally I am still unsure! Anyway ********** emailed to advise the owner had not waived the cancellation fee for the original booking. When I approached him he stated they had not contacted him. I wasted two days of my holiday dealing with this. The owner then said that as the second booking was made using a promotional rate (but still much higher value than the original booking) he wanted me to give him the amount of the promotion back in order for him to agree the refund of the original reservation - basically blackmail. It was clear he had not responded to ********** intentionally and this was part of his game to extract more money from me. Added to this the hotel had no heating on my first night and was not comfortable. The owner spends all of his time chain smoking in the kitchen - yes Kitchen! Meaning the whole place smelled of cigarette smoke. The breakfast was very basic and of poor quality and finally the photos on the website are not recent and not a true reflection. I do not recommend.
Good location, nice breakfast, good service even picked us up from the airport for free just because we booked Suite room. Furnitures are not so new but very confortable and clean. Will be there again.
It was a terrible experience at first that turned later to below average. I was surprised with a rude person who did my checkin. He was unprofessional, nor did he have the attitude neither the look of guest reception. The room was dirty, I had to change it ( I found dirty sheets and hair on the bed) the 2nd room was also dirty. The room had AC but they turned it off, the same rude guy from the reception was telling guests that the season for AC has not started when it was very hot and humid in there. They also activate the keycard for 48h then you have to go ask them to reactivate it again. They said the system had a problem but I guess they were doing it on purpose to make people go to the reception just in case. The room service was not on a daily basis and the breakfast was terrible. I’ll never go back.
Très décevant pour un 5 etoiles, l hôtel la maison blanche a perdu son faste d antan.... On arrive sur les étages de chambres sur moquettes non aspirées depuis des mois certainement tellement elles sont sales, on découvre certe une chambre spacieuse ( d'où le critère 5 étoiles) mais qui est vétuste et a besoin de rafraîchissement, la salle de bain est spacieuse mais sans confort et surtout avec des articles de toilettes déjà utilisés.... La literie reste confortable. Le petit déjeuner est un cauchemar....pas digne d un 5 étoiles . Il faut demander pour avoir des viennoiseries, le café il faut racler les fonds de thermos pour en avoir car ils ne rechargent pas, le fromage qui date de on ne sait quand et la charcuterie sèche et déshydratée. Vraiment vivement que les responsables se rendent compte de ce qu est un vrai 5 étoiles et même en Tunisie .... Ouvrez vos yeux!!!

Room Quality: The room itself felt like a throwback to a bygone era with its '70s or '80s vibe, which wouldn't have been so bad if the air conditioning had worked. In a 5-star hotel, a functioning AC is pretty much a given, but mine left me sweltering and uncomfortable. Positive Aspects: It wasn't all bad, though. The hotel's location was spot on, right where you'd want to be in Tunis. And the view from my room was quite something – looking out over the city, I felt like I could soak up the spirit of the place, which was a small consolation amidst the other issues. Negative Aspects: The real kicker, though, was my experience at the bar. Normally, they serve alcohol to anyone asking, but because I was speaking Arabic on the first day of Islamicyear, I was suddenly not eligible. , I was told only foreigners could be served. It was so bizarre and frankly, quite insulting. When my American client tried to order for both of us, they insisted she'd have to drink both. I mean, really? Contrast with Other Staff: I will say, not everyone at the hotel was part of the problem. Some staff members were genuinely welcoming and professional, showing me that true Tunisian hospitality I had been excited about. Their efforts made the stay bearable, but it's hard to fully appreciate it when other experiences were so jarring. Conclusion: Overall, my stay at Africa Hotel Tunis was a mixed bag. The location and view were definite highlights, but they were overshadowed by the outdated and uncomfortable room, not to mention the unsettling experience at the bar. I'm struggling to give more than 2 stars, even though parts of my stay were good. The hotel needs to address these issues, starting with the basics like working air conditioning. But more importantly, they need to reassess their policies and staff training to ensure every guest feels welcome and respected, regardless of their language or background.

訪訪客用戶The hotel is old and cheap but the receptionist was friendly and informative. There was no security guard at the entrance. The room was full of dust, there were holes in the bed sheets and they were dirty as well, I had skin rush due to that. The mattress was so stiff and hard, I woke up with a back pain. The air conditioner was not working so was the room was boiling during the summer I felt so insecure during my stay I'll never book there again. Not recommended!
