+ Pluses Room: exceptionally clean, very large, quiet and great air conditioning. Breakfast: lovely buffet with a selection of pastries, juices, cold cuts, yoghurt, eggs, etc. Front of hotel - exterior: nicely appointed furnishings, Astro turf, very clean Presence of locals: At breakfast, it was obvious that local residents come for breakfast and/or just coffee. A nice touch! - Minuses Swimming pool & garden in the back of the hotel: I was dreaming of a curated lawn I saw in the photos on *********** & hotel website; the reality did not match the photos, at all; no grass in a lot of areas & weeds growing all around the pool. Despite the summer 2022 drought in the Emilia-Romagna region, the weeds could have been removed at the very least. Housekeeping: A housekeeper dressed in a tank top and shorts was seated in a guest area, smoking a cigarette & reading her smartphone for at least 10-20 minutes; a clothes rack near the parking lot. Soap: No hand soap at the bathroom sink. The shower had a fixed container of soap & a movable container of shampoo. Sun lounge chairs: An incoherent hodgepodge of chairs. The first one I tried was broken; I saw another guest with a similar problem. From the early evening to the next morning, the hotel did nothing to put the chairs in order or empty ashtrays. Dead plants on display: In view of the drought, perhaps the hotel might cull the dead plants & leave the planters empty. Front desk staff - missing in action: Arriving for check-in at 2 p.m. (normal check-in is 4.30 p.m., but I requested the 2 p.m. check-in & the hotel advised me that it would be available), there was no one at the front desk; when I was ready to check out at around 9 a.m., there was no one at the front desk. Credit card: At checkout, I presented my American Express, but the receptionist was totally unaware that the hotel did not take American Express until the payment was rejected because the card wasn't accepted. Misleading signage: *********** photos have a capture of ”Villa Petra Hotel **** & Restaurant”. This sign is still outside the hotel though the hotel does not have a restaurant at this time. The hotel's website does not advertise a restaurant, but features the bar that includes the possibility of meals. Signage should be removed. Uniforms: Normally, 4-star hotels have staff in uniforms. No uniforms in sight.

Es riecht komisch, wenn man hereinkommt. Auf dem Esstisch, an den wir zur Begrüßung gebeten wurden, lagen noch die Krümmel vom Vortag. Die unteren Räumlichkeiten, eigentlich zum gemütlichen Aufenthalt gedacht, sind vollgestellt mit allerlei Dingen wie Büchern, Kissen auf dem Boden. Spinnweben überall, der Fußboden ist schmutzig. Ein Blick in die Küche gibt ein chaotisches Bild! Überall Kisten, Lebensmittel. Alles stand voll. Es ist staubig und irgendwie schmuddelig. Das gesamte Anwesen ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Es ist, als wenn seit ca. 20 Jahren nichts mehr “gemacht” wurde Es ist einfach nicht sauber! Das Bad ist schmutzig und ich habe mich schon sehr geekelt! Überall sind verknorzte Ränder, Staub, der auf allen Dingen festklebt! Das Frühstück gab ein jämmerliches Bild ab. Für 4 Personen gab es 4 Jugurt, 2 Teller mit ein paar Stückchen Trockenkuchen, matschigen Croissants und eingepackten Keksen. Der Kaffee war lauwarm und hat 20 Minuten gedauert. Direkt nachdem wir den Kaffee fertig getrunken hatten, wurden die Tassen abgeräumt. Die Untertassen waren dreckig, die Gläser blind. Auf dem Kuchen war Schimmel, unverantwortlich! Dieses Hotel ist ein totaler Reinfall!
