Stayed here for 10 days with a group of friends. Can honestly say this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in terms of beauty, cleanliness and service. The grounds are stunning and we were greeted at reception by friendly helpful staff on arrival who gave us key info about the hotel. We were able to check in to one room early and then the rest of our luggage was stored whilst we relaxed by the pool. The staff then kindly came and informed us when our other room was ready. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean and modern with powerful showers and good air con. Our friends had a fantastic private terrace which was amazing. Only down side was no balcony in my room at all which made it a little tricky to dry off swimming costumes etc. Rooms could also do with a few more plug sockets and hangers. The rooms were cleaned each day by friendly staff. The pool area was peaceful, private and clean with a great pool bar. Plenty of shade and no morning rush for sun beds which was a huge bonus in the summer…even at midday we did not struggle to get a sunbed and there was no culture of saving beds. Pool towels were provided. One of the pool bar staff Giorgio was an absolute asset to this hotel - he was calm, professional, smiley and could not do more for us both in serving food and drinks to our sun beds but also helping to move sun loungers and parasols as requested. Nothing was too much for him and he really did go above and beyond. Breakfast each morning was fresh ans plentiful even close to the end of service, with eggs, bacon, pancakes, hot drinks and more brought on request. Plenty of choice from fruit, vegetables, meats and cheese, bread, pastries, croissants, cakes and yoghurts! You could also order food from the pool bar menu each afternoon and the food again was fresh and good value for money with big portions. The on site ‘Line’ restaurant was the poshest meal we have ever had with 7(!) courses and excellent service. However, it would be amazing if there was a cheaper more relaxed dining option for the evening particularly as the hotel has few dining options close by. There is a gorgeous bar on the terrace overlooking the hotel grounds serving drinks until midnight. Again worth a mention was the fantastic Marco, who made us feel incredibly welcome and again offered fantastic service with a smile and he really helped make our trip more enjoyable! Grazie Mille Marco! The main disadvantage of this hotel is the location with not much nearby. We did walk to a Pizzeria one evening which was 30 mins away on a few dodgy roads so would not generally recommend walking to places. However, there is a free shuttle bus to and from Ercolano station 5 times a day and then we easily managed to get trains to Torre del Greco, Naples and Sorrento. We missed the shuttle one day and the driver very kindly came back to get us to save the taxi fare…all staff went absolutely above and beyond! They also helped us organise taxis when needed. However these are
We stayed in this Hotel as a Family, we based ourselves here as we wanted a central location to visit many places in Naples and this certainly did not disappoint. Nice clean Hotel with a nice Breakfast, there is a terrace where you can sit at night and even bring your own food and drinks for a peaceful evening or there are many local restaurants. The Train station is handy as just a short walk away and super cheap to use, I would definately use here trains and not Taxi even from the airport get a bus to the main station then a train here. If you want a nice base in a friendly location then this is a place for you.
In my opinion, Palazzo Adele is the best place we ever stayed in. If we go to Ercolano again, it would be our only choice.
The building is very elegant. The terrace on the 2nd floor (or 1st floor in Europe) is spacious. The parking is gated, only opened with a key fob. The room is spotless; I even feel comfortable walking on the floor barefooted.
The owner is such a nice guy! When we arrived, he gave us a warm greeting. He also provided us with some great advice on how to go to visit Vesuvius and Pompeii, as well as where to eat.
In fact, he printed out some useful information, which became our guidebook in the following few days.
We went to the Herculaneum Site as he suggested, spent nearly 2 hours there, only covered 60% of the whole place.
We followed his instruction to purchase the tickets to Vesuvius, and had a great trip there.
We asked about restaurant, he suggested a few of them. We tried the best one on the list, Bistrot Italia, fantastic food, affordable price, nice wine, and impressive service. It was so good that on the day we left, we went there again.
The location of Palazzo Adele is great! Walking distance to almost everywhere (the train
station, the Herculaneum Park, restaurants, The Royal Palace of Portici, oh and an amazing gelato place).
The neighborhood is nice. I remembered we walked through a short tunnel and there was not even a slight trace of urine smell in the air, which was very, very impressive.
All in all, Palazzo Adele is a great place to stay. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the Naples and Pompeii area.
Looking to do some sight-seeing in southern Italy near Napoli? Hotel Puntaquattroventi fit the bill perfectly. We were two families of four. We have four boys between us (ages 8 - 15). We were traveling to Napoli & to Pompeii so Ercolano was perfectly positioned in-between the two. Here are the highlights: - The Parking: Included and very accessible. I don’t recall there being a valet but it was steps from the front door in a gated lot. If you have a car, you just pull right in on arrival. - The Rooms: For a family of four, it was good because we could get two queen sized beds and a large bathroom with a balcony overlooking the ocean. One thing to note here: the rooms, as is the entire hotel, were a bit dated. I’d describe it as a very well kept 1980s Miami vibe. Ultimately, every thing was clean and comfortable. - The Pools: There are two salt water pools (one indoor and one out). The indoor pool is olympic sized. Also note the the facilities are used by the community. I think there is a local swim team that practices there but it was never a problem. It sort of added to the atmosphere because the place was all inclusive but you were still around locals. My kids are swimmers and it kept them amused our entire stay. - The Beach: The beach was steps from the outdoor pool. You have to walk down some stair, but it is passable. The beach is a quintessential Naopolitan beach. It’s rocky but they had ample lounge chairs and umbrellas. They even had a covered lanai to get out of the sun. (Both the pool and the beach are almost a must if you are doing a walking tour of Pompeii in July.) - The Food: The breakfast was a buffet and included in our room fee. It was both savory & sweet with pastry & cured meats. Fantastic. The restaurant was great for dinner. All dining areas are on outdoor balconies and have amazing waterfront views. There is also a full service snack bar by the pool that is reasonably priced. Truthfully, we stayed there for four nights and barely eat off the grounds during that time. - The Staff: Knowledgable & courteous (i.e. - They suffered through my very poor Italian but also spoke English when needed : ) - The Price: Considering all it included, it was very reasonable. Ultimately, I decided to write this review months later because I keep thinking back to how amazing it was. I’ve been to Italy several times both alone & to visit my Italian family. This was the perfect place to build in some R & R on a trip that was very busy. I would definitely go there again.
