Unfortunately they stole my kid Nintendo from room. Housekeeping said that they did not see but its gone from table. We asked to check the cameras, they spoke with the housekeeper she/he said someone came room pretending that she was me took something and left. I instead to see the cameras then they told us that noone came to the room. My son got so upset and frightened because he thought that we had a thief in the room. Despite that it was a nice hotel but unfortunately we were so down from day 2 in our 10 days trip.
We chose this hotel based on price and local transport accessibility. The hotel is located in 2 adjacent building. The main (older) building is ok but the one in the back of the cafeteria has newer accomodation and a/c and heating provided by individual units which is excellent compared to the older building that has a central system that changes from summer to winter. With climate change and 30°C in november, we are able to use a/c in the new part of the hotel. The hotel has a terrasse with table and chairs just between the cafeteria and the newer building. The room are standard size with one double or 2 single beds. The bathroom is small but well set. Spain being a very noisy country, I was surprised to hear very little noise from the inside and outside of the hotel. Well insulated windows. Some rooms have 4 beds. Metro Artigues (line 2) is 7 minutes away and a bus can take you about 150 mtrs from the subway just by taking an M26 or a B14 bus across the street from the hotel. There is hotel cafeteria but just behind there are a very good choice of restaurants on Avinguda de Catalunya. We are still here until Nov 4th when we will board a ship. The employees are all nice but being understood in English can be a challenge if you dont speak Spanish. A special thank you to Alan at reception who is always there to help. Nevertheless they do their best to accomodate your requests. Also, 2 laundromats at less than 5 minutes walking from the hotel. All in all it is an excellent value with a lot of services in the hotel or nearby. We will certainly be back.
The room is beautiful and clean but despite being a 4 star hotel, expect only the basic amenities (walk with your own electric kettle, mug, bed slippers...). Racial profiling at the spa, and being denied access to visit, was very disappointing. Especially when, the following day, I hear them tell a White client he could visit the spa before paying. I spoke to the manager about my experience and was told it was a misunderstanding, she thought I asked for a massage in my room; which was obviously a load of crap. So their solution was to tell me I could now visit the facility I was denied access to previously. I politely decline and took spent my money at another spa despite booking at that hotel specifically for that purpose. The soundproof isn't that good. I woke up multiple times thinking someone was trying to open my door, anytime a guest were opening their door or knocking. Overall, the hotel is okay... Hopefully the elevator works when you visit, and you don't have to walk all the way up or down from the 4th floor... Thankfully, I was checking out that day. Otherwise, the staff in the cafeteria and the cleaning ladies are really friendly! Some front desk staff also, which made up for that disgraceful welcome at the spa and Management's poor ability to solve the issue I experienced.
We have stayed for a night in the Barcelona hotel and it was not a great experience to be honest. Our room was hot and have called customer service 3 times to be exact to complain about it. On the third call, they have turned off the heating/cooling system as it seems to not been working and their only advice is to open the window, not ideal but nothing can be done I suppose. We are fine with it but then we realised the window would not totally open so even if the window is open, it’s still very hot in the room (26 degrees to be precise). It was only when I asked if there’s anything that can be done like transfer us to another room that they have mentioned, they can do it but the hotel is fully booked for the night but mentioned they will come back and let us know of options. They have not come back and we called again, this is the only time they said they can offer a fan for the meantime. We settled with that, but honestly not the best experience and a terrible one - room at 26 degrees, with a fan that somehow helped but also very noisy. We paid for a comfortable sleep but it was nowhere near comfortable. And would have appreciated if someone in the reception have asked if we were okay when we checked out, but nobody have asked and seems they don’t know there was an issue in the first place. Very terrible experience!
