The hotel in orbost town on the side of A1 road is a little rustic. The location is not easy to find, mainly because the sign at the entrance of the hotel is placed in the bushes, so people can't find it. The service is good. I am worried that we will arrive late, so I have opened the room to ventilate. You can eat in the town across the road, with Chinese food and fast food, and you can buy supermarkets. Stay here overnight and fill up with gasoline tomorrow morning, because there are gas stations and hot food for sale about two hours' drive to NSW.
To be honest when I first walked into room5 I thought ” this is not a deluxe room” too small, old fashioned, smallest shower cubicle anywhere in my 25 day ride around the country but it is, within small country town restraints. Has microwave, toaster, crockery, cutlery, a bonus as most Australian motels dont.Had tissues, flyspray, decent hot water and pressure. Helpful bloke, apart from downside of no real milk, at reception. Walking distance to Orbost Club, great meal there! Handed key tag to room and it states licensed restaurant on premises but not so. Would stay here again
