This hotel is in a prime position overlooking the bay. The Tripadviser map in this listing, as seen on my computer at least, shows the wrong position. The hotel is down the end of Weld Street opposite Bedford Park, giving unrestricted views to Roebuck Bay. All the local features are in walking distance as this location is between China Town and the Town Beach and pier. Matso's is nearby and the markets are at the other end of Weld St. It's also just a 20 minute walk to the airport which we did because we did (just backpacks) for a morning flight because we had time. There is a bus stop very near The Conti and the half hourly service takes you through China Town and on to Cable Beach. The Conti itself is a wonderful blend of relaxed efficiency. All staff we met were skilled and friendly. There was no problem that they weren't happy to successfully deal with. We enjoyed the garden atmosphere in the alfresco dining area/pool area/garden area. It just represents Broome rather than what you might get from a modern build. We had two stays there and both rooms were of a high standard and had a private outdoor sitting area overlooking the garden and pool area. It was very relaxing. Overall, it was a great place to stay in Broome.
This is a great place to stay me and my family stayed in a cabin which was very beautiful and clean you could tell how new they were and the shower was huge the water pressure was amazing and it was so warm the pool was good but it was a bit dirty but you could still swim in it the caravan park is easy to navigate as well. The staff were very nice as well, the balcony was great there was a big couch as well as 2 chairs there was also some sliding doors that were beautiful the hallway is a bit little so it is 1 person at a time the cabin is very well decorated and furnished the cabin that we were staying in had 2 tv’s. The Landry was good it was card operated and we had clean clothes at the end of the day it was a great comfy little place to stay would recommend going here.
I had a lovely 7 week stay for work. Would highly recommend. Location was great. Lovely clean apartment. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I felt very well looked after here. The 2 large swimming pools were very inviting.
Walking up and down two flights of steps, with our luggage, in our mid seventies was difficult and I was not told that apartments on the first floor required walking up two flights of steps. Extremely limited number of cutlery and crockery. No written instructions on how to use the induction cooktop and staff not helpful. Defeated the purpose of booking an apartment so I could cook. On checking out my husband took our first suitcase down and returned to the room to take the second bag and told me that they did not have room for our luggage so it would have to be left in the reception area. We walked down the steps together with the remaining luggage and the one person in the office was on the phone helping another guest. We waited over 5 minutes and then a young couple entered the reception area. Within one minute a staff member entered and ignored us completely and checked out the couple who had entered a minute before them. The staff member was able to store their luggage. We were left still waiting and when finally we were checked out our luggage was left in plain sight in the reception area for hours. Would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
We enjoyed our stay here and the hotel was nicely located (very near Cable Beach but not too near, and near a nice little corner store which even does lunches) I was surprised that the lifts were not working (not much of an apology on the notices) - and that we hadn't been notified in advance. While we had an offer to help with luggage, many people wouldn’t be able to manage the stairs even with luggage being carried, so I don't know what would happen if they arrived and found there were no lifts! Our room - a pool view room - was spacious and the bed was fine. There’s a big desk and a sofa. The lighting was a bit dim; and all the surfaces were very high - not great for a shorter person. I couldn't even reach the top hanging rail in the wardrobe! On the other hand there was heaps of storage space in both the bathroom and the bedroom. I had forgotten, until glancing just now at another review reporting the same issue, that the toilet bowl was stained; when I reported it the reception person looked at me as though I was mad (no apology - but it was fixed that day!) We liked the pool, but I think for safety the location of the steps within the pool should be made visible from the pool itself. While not heated, the pool temperature was comfortable, despite being 'winter'. We ate in the restaurant one night, and although the ambience was lovely, the choice was limited and the food wasn't great. But it was OK. The breakfast is probably the weakest aspect. The continental breakfast is OK, but with some standard things missing, such as orange juice, and the bread for toast was stale; and you can have a meal cooked to order (but you won't necessarily get what you asked for - and all I got when I commented on an error was a shrug!) The breakfast staff when we were there were offhand and unhelpful, unlike nearly all the other staff at the hotel. I did enjoy seeing the tiny fans rotating above the plates on the buffet! If you eat breakfast outside, beware the birds who will swoop on your food if you are not there. In general we would return, but hope that the breakfast experience improves, and that the room cleaning is supervised (and that the lifts are fixed!) If you are a bit claustrophobic, go for a top floor room, as the copious vegetation, while delightful, obscures the view in front of some of the lower floor rooms overlooking the pool.
