Exceptionally high noise levels every night 21:30-23:30 from music speakers at Cuphea, the lovely on-site outside bar/restaurant at The Residence, making it almost impossible to sleep till after 11.30pm. Entertainment programme at The Residence - highly professional and enjoyable, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Similar excellent, highly professional and currently indoor entertainment at the the adjoining Sensatori family hotel. However, at The Residence, every evening 21:30-23:30: 1. The volume outdoors is similar to being inside a loud music venue 2. These hours considered by many as sleeping hours, including whilst on holiday Hotel management advise that the majority of guests at The Residence enjoy these high sound levels every night 21:30-23:30 and strongly defend their position. This is not validated. The duplex properties are immediately adjacent to the music speakers. Multiple rooms at the adjacent Sensatori hotel face out to the same area. Hotel management claim they take the views of guests seriously. They do not with regards to evening noise levels. They refused to turn the volume down slightly when asked. For future guests at The Residence: 1. Do not waste your holiday and relaxation time raising any issues you may have regarding evening noise levels. It is futile. 2. Bring high-quality noise-cancelling headphones for each person who may wish to sleep before 23:30 during their holiday period Worst experience ever during the many times I have stayed in an Akra hotel. Rooms considered to be quiet are not quiet due to the speakers transmitting to the whole area. The rooms vibrate with the bass tones and the glazing does not stop the outside noise, with the music and bass audible inside the room with the doors closed. All rooms for Tui guests have balconies facing towards the speakers/outside entertainment at Cuphea. Land-facing rooms in the hotel - i.e. with balconies not facing to the outside entertainment/Cuphea area - not available to Tui guests and partially occupied by hotel management; land-facing rooms apparently affected by continuous nightly traffic. Will be returning home with sleep deprivation due to refusal of hotel management to adjust the volume slightly. No sister hotel offered as claimed ok an initial response. NB Similar 1-star review on Google 8 months ago about The Residence ‘nights of terror’, and a similar reply from hotel management strongly defending these sound levels every evening. Unfortunately, I did not see this before booking. Nightly torture. Otherwise excellent hotel in all aspects.

Outstanding hotel, absolutely fantastic. Service and the food was exceptional. Every single member of staff was happy and friendly Cannot find fault. We were so pleased with our stay that we are returning at the begining of July...can't wait

We have just returned from our holiday at The Residence Hotel and both had an amazing time. I really think this place is going to be hard to beat! We was looking for somewhere which came close to the standards of an all inclusive in Mexico, and here definitely exceeded our expectations. When we booked the only rooms left were the Lakeside houses and although they are a lot more expensive we really was spoilt with the extra space. We were allocated a ‘Butler’ whose name was Hasan and he really was amazing. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him; we ordered breakfast twice to our room as well as a requesting a few drinks and once lunch and Hasan always responded quickly and friendly without being intrusive. The resort really is lucky to have him! We were lucky as after doing some research we requested and were allocated house 5701 which has the view looking out to see and the swim up pool, although it links to the main pool, it is so quite, you pretty much feel it’s your own private pool. The food was great and the service in all the bars and restaurants was exceptional. Although you have the option to eat in the restaurants next door we never had the desire too as the food, service and surroundings of The Residence was just so nice. Entertainment was just right in the evenings by the cocktail bar with a mixture of music provided. The main highlights for us was the Pool/ swim up cocktail bar, quality of food, service provided, especially from Hasan our Butler, using the cabana on the beach ( 90 euro charge) and of course going through the cocktail menu.
