喬拉度假飯店及水療中心(Chora Resort Hotel & Spa)

Clean hotel with an excellent location and a large swimming pool. A bus to the hotel waited at the port when we arrived on the island, so we didn't have to worry about how to get there.

Noot vooraf: dit is een verslag op basis van onze persoonlijke ervaring en dient dan ook als dusdanig te worden gelezen. Ontvangst was zeer onpersoonlijk en koud. Kamer: Wij kregen een standard kamer toegewezen (volgens boeking). Volgens hun website heeft deze kamer de volgende karakteristieken: “Situated in ground floor, the rooms consist of one bedroom with king or queen size bed, wooden, iron made or build-in traditional handmade furniture, marble lined bathroom and a nice veranda with wonderful garden view.” Waar is de marble lined badkamer? Waar is de “wonderful garden view”? Zie foto’s en oordeel zelf… Zeer kleine kamer, bed staat langs 1 kant tegen de muur. Weinig opbergruimte. Slechte matras die op gewone planken ligt. Bij aankomst vonden we een diadeem in het bed. Bloedvlek op de bedsprei. We hebben dit onmiddellijk gemeld en geeist dat lakens en bedsprei zouden vervangen worden. Dit hebben ze dan ook gedaan. De laatste avond kussensloop met inktstrepen besmeurd. Aftandse badkamer. We vonden zelfs nog een door vorige gasten gebruikt glas (pas opgemerkt na onze klacht ivm bed). Kamer slecht of niet gepoetst, overal lange haren van vorige gasten op de grond. Slechte geluidsisolatie Gebruikte glazen worden niet afgewassen, noch vervangen. Slechte wifi. Streaming is hier praktisch onmogelijk, constante hapering. We hebben zelfs niet meer de moeite gedaan om te gaan klagen. Het werd gewoon te veel. Ontbijt: Ze pretenderen hier een 5* hotel te zijn. Ontbijt zeer ondermaats voor deze categorie, zelfs al was het een 4* hotel. Geen enkele variatie. Bij het koffieapparaat wordt het water opgepompt uit bidons die open op de grond staan We verbleven onlangs in een 3* hotel op Mykonos, dat veel beter scoorde op alles dan dit. Het enige positieve is dan wel het zwembad en de aanleg er van.

Excellent séjour de 2 nuits : navette pour les ferries très efficace (y compris en pleine nuit !), chambres très confortables, jolie vue depuis la terrasse privative, proximité immédiate de CHORA et des bus pour visiter l'île, petit déjeuner copieux et varié, accueil très sympathique en français par la responsable de l'hôtel

Hotel di tutto rispetto con 4 stelle meritatissime, camere con spazi giusti, pulite e con arredi curati, piscina e spazio esterno bello e molto curato, colazione ottima con possibilità di consumarla a bordo piscina. Staff molto gentile e disponibile. Posizione comodissima per il centro è vicino alle fermate del bus, spero di tornarci.

Des logements répartis autour d’une grande piscine ! Beau look, belle architecture ! Grande chambre très agréable ! Très propre. Un personnel à notre écoute. Très bon accueil de la Directrice de l’établissement et de la réceptionniste ! Toutefois, quelques imperfections… - pour le petit-déjeuner, les parasols ne sont pas ouverts au dessus des tables de la terrasse - les chaises longues ne sont pas confortables… on ne peut se poser très longtemps… - les produits servis au petit-déjeuner sont moyens ! Le standing de cet hôtel fait que la balance reste très positive !

Ο,τι χειρότερο έχει υπάρξει σε ξενοδοχείο! Ο,τι χειρότερο σε διαμονή! Ο,τι χειρότερο σε παροχές! Γενικά ο,τι χειρότερο. Υποτίθεται 5 ⭐️ και ξεκινάμε! Καλοκαιρινός προορισμός, γυρίζουμε από παραλία, ζητάμε μια απλώστρα να κρεμάσουμε τα μαγιώ μας,τις πετσέτες μας κτλ και όχι απλά δεν υπήρχε στο δικό μας δωμάτιο , δεν υπήρχε σε όλο το ξενοδοχείο παρά μόνο με πληρωμή να μας πλύνουν 2 πέτσες και 2 μαγιώ και να τα απλώσουν σε δικό τους χώρο! Συνεχίζουμε, έρχεται η ώρα να βγούμε και ζητάμε για 5 λεπτά ένα σίδερο να σιδερώσουμε 2 μπλούζες μας κτλ για να καταφέρουμε να βγούμε μια βόλτα γιατί όπως ειναι λογικό έρχεσαι από ταξίδι με βαλίτσες και τα ρούχα σου δεν φτάνουν ατσαλάκωτα! Και εκεί φυσικά μας ζήτησαν να πληρώσουμε. Στο μπάνιο,πιστολάκι σπασμένο ,το οποίο δεν στέγνωνε με τίποτα μαλλιά,το νερό ούτε καν χλιαρό, απλά κρύο! Προχωράμε,έχουμε προπληρώσει το δωμάτιο 510€ για 4 βραδιά, μετά την πρώτη διαμονή, προκύπτει σοβαρό πρόβλημα υγείας, που φυσικά εάν δεν προέκυπτε θέμα υγείας , δεν θα χαρίζαμε τόσα χρήματα και πρέπει να φύγουμε για Πειραιά.Λέμε να μας κρατήσουν ενα ποσοστό των χρημάτων ή έστω και το δεύτερο βραδυ ολόκληρο παρότι φτάσαμε στις 5 το απόγευμα τη μια ημέρα και φύγαμε 2 το επόμενο μεσημέρι , ούτε καν 24ωρο δηλαδή, και φυσικά δεν μας έκαναν επιστροφή, αντιθέτως, μας ειρωνεύτηκαν κιόλας! Τρομάζω , να πιστέψω το τι απογοήτευση θα είχαμε εάν μέναμε και τις 4 ολόκληρες ημέρες! Τελικά, χαρίσαμε 510€ σε ένα ξενοδοχείο, το οποίο δεν άξιζε ούτε 20€. Λυπάμαι για το πόσοι θα βρεθούν στη δική μας θέση! Πολύ κακό, μην το επιλέξετε! *και το κερασάκι στην τούρτα , πήραμε ένα μπουκάλι νερό με το πρωινό μας και αφού έγιναν ολα τα παραπάνω και τρέχαμε να μαζέψουμε πράγματα να φύγουμε , μας κάλεσαν στο δωμάτιο να τους πληρώσουμε και τα 2,5€ για το νερό, ενώ τους είχαμε αφήσει 506€ και φύγαμε αμέσως μετά την πρώτη διανυκτέρευση!

Avoid this hotel! The hotel claims to be 4 stars, but that's a lie. The hotel has a lower standard than other options in Chora, such as Folgandros Apartments and Anemomilos Boutique Hotel, both of which are 2 stars. Chora Resort is clearly a hotel on the brink of bankruptcy, and it’s run accordingly. They want to bring in money but are letting the hotel fall apart. It’s unsafe and in dire need of renovation. The photos you see are photoshopped. Note the many negative comments from former employees. They particularly criticize the hygiene. We found this to be true. We later spoke with several wonderfully friendly people in the beautiful town, and unfortunately, all were well aware of stories like ours, about people being deceived by this hotel. They were angry themselves because they believe the hotel is ruining the island's and the town's reputation. Furthermore, I will comment on: Mold and cleaning The pool Outdoor area I traveled with my family, that is, my partner and our two children, including a baby under one year old. The first thing we noticed in the room was the smell of mold. The mold was painted over but was evident in the shower and inside the closets. The cleaning of the room was also questionable. There were a lot of insects around, it was crawling with ants – even in the beds. Disgusting. The pool was full of insects, and they were not removed. Not a major issue, but it's unappealing and has nothing to do with 4 stars, and should be unnecessary when you’re paying 180-200 euros per night. The outdoor area outside our room was unusable for us. We had envisioned that the baby could crawl around on the deck, but it was splintery, unsafe, and full of bird droppings that were not cleaned. The outdoor furniture had also not been cleaned for a long time. Our family is fortunate enough to have been able to find another place to stay, even though we did not get our money back. Not everyone is that lucky. When I spoke to the manager, she said she didn’t care about bad reviews because she would just say we were lying. It’s obvious she has experienced this many times before.

Whether you're a couple, a family, or traveling with friends, I highly recommend the Chora Resort as the perfect place to stay on Folegandros. Big, lovely, well-appointed rooms, gracious service, wonderful pool and public areas, and friendly and professional front desk and management personnel make this a special place. Breakfast was sensational, with eggs cooked to order and delicious breads, salads, and fruit. Location is perfect -- a quiet site on the edge of the small town of Chora, but with shops, restaurants, etc, very close by. And all this at a very reasonable price. The photos on *********** don't do it justice! We loved the Chora Resort and would definitely stay there again.

Why so many stars? At a first glance it seems a good resort but it is not worthwhile. Very expensive for what we got. Average breakfast, small rooms, our bathroom was ugly for the price we paid (with a bath maybe good in the of 80s). The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool and this is the only reason we give this rating. Overall not terrible but it is too expensive for what it offers. No luxury at all.
