林肯飯店(Hotel Lincoln)

They said ******* over booked this hotel, so they moved me to their sister hotel. They then only put me down for one night instead of the 2 I had, plus didn't put me in a room with a king like my original reservation had. They said my fist night would be paid, for, but at check out I paid full price

I love to stay here. It's quirky, no-frills, and affordable. Very close to the Old Town District, Lincoln Park, and Wrigleyville. Close enough to downtown to walk, bike, or a short bus or train ride. Very clean, great staff, cozy. My only complaint: they really need an on-site restaurant and the vintage building offers many opportunities for a kitschy diner or retro coffee shop ala Seinfeld.

Lacking some amenities that other hotels offer, no fridge in the room, shared microwave on one floor rather than one in the room. Get a coupon daily for a free drink from either the bar or the coffee shop, but it's not really free because you pay a $15 amenity fee nightly, and that free drink is included in the amenities per the welcome letter. Stay was very pleasant regardless of these odd things.

It's was unfortunate that our floor and our room smelled very strongly of Fabreeze or some kind of spray. I have allergies, and this smell made it difficult to be in our room. We opened windows and left for a few hours. But at night, I had to open them again, and ended up having to wear a mask in order to sleep the smell was so bothersome to me. It's too bad, as the location is great for when we come to town to visit our daughter. I will not be able to stay here again. I have not encountered this problem in any hotel, ever!

What a great hotel. Convenient and across from a beautiful park. View from our window was the lake and the park. The staff, especially the maintenance and valet service staff were friendly and amazing. The room was fun...small for today's standards, but large enough for us...two roadtrip travelers. It's old but well kept and fun decor. Easy to unload and valet park. We'd love to visit again.

This property is old and rundown. The bed was comfortable but that is the only positive. The rooms are tiny. The bathroom is old with peeling ceilings. The toilet water level is so high that the only way to wipe is standing up or else your hand goes into the water. The room was supposed to have 2 bottles of water complimentary and yet there was none. After 2 separate calls and a promise to deliver it never came. The room is supposed to be serviced daily. The first night the bed was so crumpled they clearly just tried to pull up the cover. The front desk is understaffed and not helpful.

This hotel needs a lot work on updating the rooms and common areas. My room was a mix of 80s and 90s mix. Yes, the bed was updated but everything was dated. Plaster work in the bathroom was poorly done. The trim around the bathroom door was bowing out. There were foot prints in the bathroom tub when I arrived. Was it cleaned was my question.

The hotel outlets in my room did not work so I was unable to charge any electronics. Also, the toilet in my room would not flush properly all weekend. Upon checking out, the staff seemed uninterested and unapologetic for the issues I was dealing with.
