Lovely place though a little dated

Het hotel heeft een prachtige ligging en is van vroeger uit een herenhuis geweest. De stijl is ook grotendeels behouden gebleven. Het personeel is hartstikke vriendelijk. Jammer dat de kamers zo gedateerd zijn. Ontbijt en diner zijn prima. Dinerkaart mag wel wat worden uitgebreid.

Great hotel with beautiful gardens. Evening meal had limited menu but quality of food was great. Breakfast also very good. Ample parking. Very friendly staff. Our room was well decorated with huge 6ft bed, but the ensuite was a bit tired with one of the towel radiator brackets broken and the bath/shower had a little bit of mould on the grout, probably due to the room having so window or extractor fan though this didn't affect our stay.

It was our 20th wedding anniversary and we got married at Ringwood Hall. We had a stroll round the grounds, lots of memories of a happy day. We stayed in the Potting Shed which was a short walk from the main building. It was clean and in beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The grounds were beautiful...the building looked very nice..the staff lovely..the dining great....the twin room we had was most certainly not 4 star. Very stained carpet...grubby chairs..black mould round bath...one hand towel was disgustingly dirty, still damp, so presumably used by previous occupant.

Arrived for breakfast half hour before finish to find all fruit and pastries gone. Smoothie jug empty and buffet looking very sad. Asked staff who said it was eaten earlier. Staff brought out enough fruit for two people ( 4 of us ) and said the pastries would take too long to bake. To be fair to the receptionist we were given a refund when complaining. On arrival also ordered two flat whites. Coffees arrived with no froth. Staff explained the frother wasn’t working ?? . Coffee taken back but still had to ask for them to be taken off bill. Nice place, the gardens are lovely, spoilt by staff not providing a quality service to reflect the establishment.

Although the name of the hotel and also the pictures include a spa, note this is not included for guests and is not part of the hotel. It costs quite a bit and you will need to specifically book the spa direct in advance and pay extra. It’s not clear online that is the case which is a bit misleading. If it’s part of the advert then it’s perfectly reasonable to expect it to be included. If you are not bothered about the spa, then it’s a nice hotel. Rooms were good and had easy parking etc.

Staff very welcoming and helpful found us a very pleasant ground floor room when they realised my husband couldn’t manage the two flights of stairs to the original room. I had to completely remake my bed before being able to sleep as the mattress protector was all creased up and so bed was uncomfortable once remade with flattened protector and sheet that was fine also there was only one three pin plug in the entire room which made charging a phone and a laptop impossible and when you wanted a hot drink the kettle had to stand on the floor as the cable did it reach this plug.The only other problem we encountered was that the wall between us and the next room was not insulated and they had the TV on ALL night at full volume and I could hear every word of the programmes they were watching.

We stayed with a group of friends and their 11 classic cars for a tour of the area over the weekend. The bedroom was OK, but lacked drawers to put clothes away. There was plenty of space for a chest of drawers, but sadly one hadn't been provided (Room 202). Some of the main TV channels did not work, extract in the bathroom didn't work and no plug sockets provided by the bed. The group arrived on the Friday and made it clear they were big drinkers! However, on Saturday, the hotel had run completely out of Gin and Brandy and some wines. They missed out on a lot of sales. It seems that the management is lacking and the staff need training better. Our friends made table reservations in advance for Friday and there was no record of them on arrival. We asked for a small jug of cream to accompany a fairly dry dessert on Sunday, and they charged us £1.50 for it! The hotel has great potential, but I think the management needs looking at - some of the staff were extremely friendly, but seemed a bit clueless much of the time.
