This out of town hotel which backs onto a 24hr service station is now charging £7 per night to park. It is bot within walking distance of the town or any attractions so why. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past two years and have always found the staff friendly and helpful except for one who stands out like a sore thumb. He is rude in the fact that he ignores patrons. On my last visit he ignored the fact I was struggling to get through the door and left another guest to help me. When I first noticed him a while ago I didn't realise he was a member of staff as he just seemed to be hanging around, but on my last visit I found out that he is the manager (Brendan). What a waste of space, putting so much pressure on the rest of the staff who for some reason seem frighten of him. There is an alternative Premier Inn less than a mile away with free parking and a decent manager. After many years thats where I shall go in future.

The reception staff(Brook) has to be the nicest friendly person she is a credit to the company helped me out with parking lovely smile always so happy.food was excellent the room is very clean all the staff were first class service can’t wait to go back will always pop in on my travels just to say hello and a bite to eat best premier inn I’ve stayed in 👍👍

Arrived at the hotel just before checkin and the room I requested wasn’t quite ready - as I usually request a close room to the car park (as I have lots of equipment to unload each day) so brooke on reception asked me if I could wait for 15 mins whilst it gets sorted and even offered me a coffee whilst I waited. Fantastic costumer service here. Will definitely be using again

We had turned up to the hotel to realise they charge for parking as well as a few others did as well. Be aware if you are going to this hotel during the summer months the room has no air con and the room will be as hot as 28 degrees. very uncomfortable nights sleep. you may also not want to open your windows as you'll be woken up by cars.

We used Springfield as our overnight base for our trip to visit RHS Hyde Hall about 9 miles from Chelmsford. We tend to use Premier Inn as its a comfortable stay and with the meal deal we dont have to think about a restaurant nearby for our food requirements, as The Premier Inn partner restaurants serve good value meals (and a cracking all you can eat Breakfast)

Hardly a warm welcome from the chap behind the desk. But the evening meal was very nice served by a nice waitress. Sad they had ran out of Guiness behind the bar Full English Breakfast was ok pity the scrambled eggs were cold . On leaving was told I have to pay to have used the hotels car park another fiver on top of the bill

Everything was pretty much as expected, simple booking and check in experience. Room spacious, clean, tea coffee in room easy top up at reception, good breakfast, polite helpful staff, all as it should be. Considering the location of the hotel (rural) wasn't too pleased with £5 parking charge you need a car to get there.

We arrived at the hotel and it was busy with people queuing to check in,, eventually we got to the front to check in and Freddie gave us a lovely welcome however we overheard a very snappy rude woman telling a couple that she can't help out checking in because she's going home wow they definitely got told ! Our room wasn't as clean as it should or could have been but the bed is comfortable. Breakfast was nice but very busy and not enough staff members but the woman from the day before was running around getting stressed out and was being so rude to people asking for anything that it became quite awkward so we couldn't wait to check out, shame really because this could be a great place to stay with better management and without the stroppy woman!

Beds are 10/10, can’t fault the staff they’re all amazing. Customer service was always out do this world, Brendon was polite and always welcoming. Amy and debs always went above and beyond to make sure customer satisfaction was met. Can’t thank everyone enough for making our experience one we won’t forget!
