This hotel was in a wonderful location. We were in walking distance to lots of good eateries, the aquarium and the river walk. The front staff that we encountered were always kind to us and helpful. We booked a double room and it was nothing spectacular about it. Clean but not spotless. It was comfortable enough to enjoy a weekend getaway as a family. I did notice there was some sort of pink stain in the tub and some shed hair…I just cleaned it out before we used it. The WiFi was good, so we were able to do homework and check emails. All in all, not a bad place to stay! The pool area was nice for the kiddos!
The biggest issue with this hotel was the musty stinky smell inside the hotel. I read other reviews and was prepared for this but was surprised. Some days it smelled like must and others it smelled like sewage. However, like the other reviews mentioned it did not smell in the room AT ALL. So it was bearable. ROOM I didn't find the bed very comfortable, however I often don't when staying in hotels. The pillows, are just like every pillow at every hotel these days, they instantly collapse under the slightest weight and seem to become non-existent, but I guess that's ever pillow at every hotel. The AC in the room would not go down very far and it was very vey hot in the room while we were there. The layout of the room was nice, however even though it's clearly an older hotel that's been remodeled they still had carpet in the room, so I wasn't very happy with that. But other than that the room seemed clean. There was both a mini fridge and microwave and coffee maker in the room. The space in the room was pretty well used with the furniture they had. The other concern in the room was the water. The water was mostly scalding hot during our stay. So hot in fact, that I had to turn it off and on while showering because it was way way too hot. Sadly, we only stayed a few nights and didn't notice this until mid way through the 2nd day since we arrived late the first night worked from the room. By then it seemed silly to tell the front desk since I assumed they would either have us move rooms or would send someone up to fix it, and we had evening plans. LOBBY & BAR The lobby and bar is a large area. I worked from that area two days while I was there. However, the best spot to work and plug your laptop/phone in turned out to have broken power outlets, so I ran out juice at one point suddenly and had to run back up to my room. But I found another spot that worked great and I ordered lunch there one day and was pleased. It is connected to a conference center so be wary that if the conference in town is not hosting lunch, then this area will get VERY busy VERY fast. Luckily for me that only happened one day and people started pouring in right as I was ready to pack up and take a break in the room for a while. WIFI Overall, I had no issues with using the wifi to complete my work, I did have to join many meetings, none of which I used my video camera and I had no interruptions or slow service.
I enjoyed my stay at then Chattanoogan. Front desk employee that checked me in was friendly and helpful. My room was clean and aside from some minor housekeeping inconveniences, it would have been perfect. The valet service was superb. Jonathan with that company assisted me and was extremely nice and courteous. If I could give one recommendation, it would be to tone down the lobby scent. It was overwhelming.
Our stay was great. The hotel was clean. Our room was cozy and clean. The staff was friendly. The food was delicious. The location was convenient to our family and places to visit. We are grateful and will return again.
AastridellisThe downtown location offers everything within a walking distance. The staff is very, very welcoming, helping and friendly. The cost for parking is expensive, mostly you have to go get the car yourself. The hotel is outdated and the furniture throughout the hotel has seen better days., The room was clean, basic amenities were available. For a business trip, this hotel offered what you need, a clean room, safe parking, good location, helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast is in cooperation with a restaurant which charges an insane amount of money for breakfast (it's not worth it); the coffee available in the lobby is ok. If you look for a great breakfast or coffee place, there is a restaurant called Maple Street Biscuit Company around the corner, 3 minutes to walk, they have excellent coffee and great food, the welcome is superb and the atmosphere great! During my next business trip to Chattanooga I would stay at a different hotel.
TTroy HarkinComfortable room. Paid for 2 breakfasts to be included in the booking but still had to pay for them as extra. Good location and value for the hotel, just need to be more clear on what's included in room at time of booking to make sure it's actually included.
訪訪客We stayed her while at a softball tournament in town. It was an older room but clean. Couldn’t get the heat turned up the first night. So we called from the ball park the next day to have it checked. They said they would wait till we were in the room. Had to have maintenance man out. Showed us how we had to turn it past the heat button. Told him I was afraid to break it. He had room warmed up in no time. An the front desk lady gave us extra blankets. There was not even a continental breakfast. Guess I’m used to having some sore of breakfast especially when heading to ball park early.
Great Value! Central location super close to the interstate and walking distance to several restaurants and bars. Would walk in the daytime but taxi/uber at night. Friendly staff. Well appointed room with mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, drop zone with an area to sit, store shoes and lots of hooks to hang coats and bags. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Generous complimentary breakfast with sausage, eggs, cereals, bagels, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, waffles and juices. Private exterior courtyard on side of hotel with tables and chairs. Hotel was a bit worn but renovations are underway. I would stay here again and recommend.
